+Dani Loh Is India safe - a good question. The first video near the Intercity Hotel, unknown to us, threw us into the night market and an area that has all the feel of Old Delhi. In other words the cultural shock was intense. Despite being thrown into such a situation on our first and second nights in Delhi we were apprehensive but never felt in danger. By the end of our trip we returned to Old Delhi and felt quite comfortable. So India takes getting used to. During our month in India at no time did we feel uncomfortable from a security viewpoint - cautious yes but not uncomfortable. All I can say keep viewing the videos from Delhi and the rest of India and you will feel a lot more comfortable with Delhi and particularly India. Yes we had a lot of apprehensions about going to India but in the end it was a trip of lifetime and we hope to go back. Ultimately there is nothing like India but fear can keep you away. So worry is a natural reaction and I must say whether it was going to South East Asia or India there was certainly a healthy amount of worry that preceded the trip. Then again what is the alternative - stay home?
