Hi MrCelifast, maybe the 2zz IM is larger than the 1zz's. You have a
different bore size cyclinder which means the IM may not suit your 1zz.
Unsuitable or badly designed IM will cause power loss. It's like breathing
through an over sized straw...difficult sucking in air. I guess your best
bet is to get a tuning with a piggyback ECU, Emanage Blue will suffice. IM
is something you need tuned. My DD Performance IM is a larger IM than my
stock 2zz. It's tested and designed for it. 2zz rocks!
