@ Ashley4x4, there are none so blind as those who do not look, I have
driven land rover, jeep and Toyota, all are very capable 4x4's but the car
in front is a Toyota, it is the most popular vehicle in South America, in
Africa, in the middle and far east, In Australia, I could go on but that
would be pointless, thanks to my experience with land rovers I wont
undertake any trip without a tool box as part of my luggage, however I have
never needed those tools while driving a Japanese vehicle.
Also when you say you can do more with a LR do you mean you fit more
aftermarket parts? If so I think you are missing the point, there is no
need to do much with an 80. Cheap parts for LRs? LCs don't need as many
parts so parts cost is not an issue. Anyway this will be my last response
to your comments as all you have your blinkers on and all you can see are
LRs. I don't have any brand favoritism, and will buy an LR if they make a
good one but I can't see that happening any time soon.
Ashley 4x4 i get the impression you are a narrow minded chav prick who has
nothing better to do with your life than rip the piss out of everything you
see in that video.I doubt you are even old enough to own a landrover well
maybe a childs toy.Get a life you keyboard hero and dream about owning a
real 4x4 not a rusty old landrover that cant pull itself off the council
estate where you live.I suppose you live off the dole aswell.Dont they pay
enough to buy a landcruiser you are a prick
Shows how little you know about the HDJ80. All you need to do on an 80 is a
small 2" lift and some decent slightly oversize 33" tyres and your putting
heavily modified defenders to shame and its comfortable. I too thought that
Defenders were the dogs danglies but I soon realised how wrong I was. Why
do I need serious aftermarket mods to prove its a serious off-roader when
they got it right from the start. No need to upgrade any drivetrain
components until you fit 37" tyres on an 80.
No this was not filmed in a desert but when I did drive to a desert there
wasn't an LR in sight. The reason why you see so many LRs in the UK (and
only in the UK) is because most people know no different, they always had
one and therefore always will have one. British pride has also a lot to do
with it as well. Defence equipment is always bought and produced locally
whenever possible for obvious reasons but last I heard they are getting rid
of them.
They will Neva get rid of them they bin goin on a lot longer then toyota
hav. My grandad is farmer and has owned every 4x4 n has found the his
defender pik up the best easy to clean and over 250k on clock, my disco 2
is obviously the td5 made by BMW so I know the td5 is a dam good engine the
atual car is a hell of a lot more stylish then a landcruiser.cum to cliro n
I will challenge u around, doesn't matter about mods end of the day it's a
LR
Lol, if Landrover made one that does not have CVs/halfshafts/diffs made
from chocolate, with 3 factory fitted locking differentials, a smooth,
quiet, indestructible 4.2TD, door seals that work and did not brake down
all the time I would. Only other vehicles I would consider are the Merc G
wagon and a Nissan Patrol with a heavy duty engine (not the crap 3.0td they
sold in the UK).
Can't remember the last time I saw a LR in the middle or a desert. Plenty
of LCs though. The thing is if you break down in the UK you generally don't
die as a result of it. In places where you likely to die as a result of a
vehicle breakdown you never see a LR. As the old saying goes: If you want
to go to the bush take a Landrover, if you want to come back take an
Landcruiser.
Just like to add that the white cruiser in the add would be valued at
around 7k quite easy.Ive just sold one for 10k the same. And as for them
being a pile of crap i dont know why i sell pairs of axles over and over
and over to LR lads. I live in derbyshire and do all the lanes that are
open here.Ive met a few LR lads around the lanes and we always have a good
laugh.
Lol omg u know fuck all for a start were not in the desert in the uk here.
2 ansa this y don't farmers hav landcruisers??? Or the army????? Or the
police??? Or fire brigade??? They use landrover over here in uk for all
them but no land cruiser. They may b better built but for performance u can
do more wiv a landy and there cheap to repair. Not over priced jap crap
My disco2 has TC standard. CentrebDiff lock standard only had to buy
connecting leaver. I've Neva broke oat on mine. U go to pay and play days
and hav good look wot MOST people use and that's the DEFENDER, farmers use
defender that's cus there tuff y wud a farmer buy wot u hav?
I cud go out but a defender for 5k roll it several time ls and still know I
will get a lot money still. U bag a shit u wud roll it and crumple and b in
scrap yard next day. All u hav in a comfy 4x4 at the end of the day if it
serious off roader u wudnt use factory fitted stuff
