I only have 10 manga volumes and watched like 4-5 episodes, but the live version of 2012 is pretty accurate in what is shown. A few things are changed a little but I believe they are trying to stay accurate as possible and keep in as many of the important moments of the manga. Maybe you should do another review of the whole thing when the live action is done like what you think about the actors and such. And I do believe Onizuka made a line in one of the eps that is commonly used in Gokusen XD

The 2012 Drama sadly lacks a lot of the character and heart that makes GTO great. superficially its closer to the manga (which beats any adaptation by lengths) but the 2012 version is different from the other ones and especially the manga in that its really just super-hero onizuka saving one student after another and there's very little motivation for everything he does. Most aspects are toned down and kind of feminized/mainstreamed (including flattened characters). still watchable, though.

you should watch the gto live action 1999 one. the characters are amazing and great actors. i have to say he played onizuka pretty well. its my favorite! i heard the 2012 one was kinda bad but im still considering watching it.
