as i sat there in my office . . trying not to move . . the music liquified
and passed through my ears forcing a tremendous inner sensation for which
words cannot describe . . just sit still and you will see what i mean . .
this chit is pure funk . . i didn't know music could be "boosted" . .
anyone have the name of that keyboard player? pretty amazing to hear that
kinda shit outta nowhere - totally different tonality but it fits perfectly
and is funky as hell. takes huge chops to pull that off but it's pretty
damn understated ... 0% ego, 100% badassery
The only thing this is a great example of is that if you're a drummer and
you happen to be white you need to be just as suspicious of your instinct
to move your body this way or that as you would if you were dancing in
public. And we have to overanalyze everything.
in trying to ride the rhythum between the drums and the guitar . . i had an
out of body experience . . got swept away by the organ and informed by the
lyrics . . dang . . i love it when that happens . . awesome post!
Thanks. She is so very profound with so much to say...most artists cannot
even come close to identifying with what she's about because they sold out
to larger record companies and lost their feel for what is real.
we'r talking about Me'shell....sh'es a musical genius to me....Cookies...is
one of my all time favorite...one of the best experimental funk cd ever put
out.....
