So first off it is obvious that you don't know very much about the airline industry if you call a gate a bay and a jet bridge/jetway a tube thingy. Second, how did you not know you were going to miss your flight. You booked your flight and knew what time it was leaving... when you arrive at an airport after the time your flight should depart.. there is proabably a good chance you are going to miss ur flight. duh. I just wish people would do their research b4 bashing smthn they know nothin about.

@TheJohn0000000001 RARE???????? Are you kidding me?????? This same kind of crap happened to me as well. Not only on the trip out, BUT on the trip BACK!!!!! Customer service was a total farce and they gave us a meal voucher for $6.00....in NEW YORK CITY! Um, that will get you about a candy bar there. I hope your Aunt finds a better place to work, because let me tell you Delta screwing up people's trips is NOT a rare occurrence.

@KaylaBohle actually I tried to not be an ass, and we did ask for it, but they wouldn't do it for us. By the time that I made this video, all of this was already done with, and Delta didn't do anything extra for us. in fact, I have heard MAN Y complaints about Delta from other people...

@dcthomas98 thanks for the tips. I have to go to LA later on this year, and the cheapest flight was Delta, so I booked it. The good news is that it's a non-stop flight, so i figured i'd give them a second chance. Let's pray for the best!

What was the weather like? It sounds as though you aren't explaining what exactly happened PRIOR to your original flight being late. Delta cannot control the weather or some other issues.

And thats why I ALWAYS fly jetblue!!! Try them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was 14, and got stranded at JFK overnight, and they were AMAZING to me!!! I love jetblue!!!

@brucencalifornia I've been in the military for 21 years, multiple deployments, the military always pays for the bags, they just amend the orders if you had more than what the original order authorized. In the end, these soldiers were not going to pay for these bag fees, so the whining is sad actually. Don't see anyone standing up for the airport parking or cart fees, which are also reimbursable.

Delta got their hands caught in one terrible cookie jar, trying to pick the pockets of men who risked their lives for this country, and they should have this one come back on them 10000x fold. If there is any other option in EXISTENCE to get where I'm going, including horse drawn carriage, I will take it over Delta. Next time, maybe try honoring our heroes rather than robbing them.

I think the policy across the board for all airlines should be if you are a soldier coming back from afghanistand or iraq after military orders ALL BAGS FREE and upgrade to first class if seats are available! they do soo much for us the least we could do is have them enjoy their flight back home and make it as easy and complicated free as possible!

These baggage fees are 100% reimbursable on their travel voucher. So the whining about having to pay a bag fee is a bunch of BS. The govt reimburses the military member when they get back to their base. Don't hear anyone crying about the baggage cart fee and parking at the airport...which is also reimbursable.

@briperez The only reason is because of the huge PR hit they took. Otherwise, they would have been more than happy to rob those men who risked their lives for you and me of the little money they got to support their families while away.
