The Apostles were never kicked out of Jerusalem! In fact, when Paul
returned to Jerusalem for the last time just before his arrest, James and
the elders brag to Paul that there are "tens of thousands" of believers in
Jerusalem alone!
See Acts 21: 20
“And when they heard it, they glorified God. And they said to him [Paul],
“You see, brother, how many thousands there are among the Jews of those who
have believed...”
The number "thousands" should be "tens of thousands". The surviving Greek
texts say "tens of thousands". The "tens" was removed because the
translators refused to believe there were so many believers in the city.
Acts 8:1Living Bible (TLB)8 Paul was in complete agreement with the killing of Stephen. And a great wave of persecution of the believers began that day, sweeping over the church in Jerusalem, and everyone except the apostles fled into Judea and Samaria.
