Cannondale Scalpel 29 Carbon 2 - 2015 Bible of Bike Tests
The Scalpel continues its tradition as a take-no-prisoners racer. Stiff, light and nimble, this bike suffers no fools, but in capable hands it's an absolute weapon.
As someone who has done extensive time in the saddle of the scalpel I think
these guys are right on. Perfect review. Fast, stiff, precise, responsive,
easy to stand and pedal, feels like a hardtail, you need to be on your
game, goes better the faster you go, not for beginners who dawdle through
rock gardens.... yupp, yupp, yupp, yupp, yupp, yupp, yupp, yupp and yupp.
It's a xc weapon. If you're fundamentally a hardtail xc kind of guy but
want suspension to tackle some rougher trails at speed this is the bike for
you. And I'd take it over the epic in case you're wondering.
I love my scalpel. Its fast, tight n ready to go right out of the box!! The
cross roc rim n tire system had me nrvs in the beginning, I usually use
crank brother, but the mavic won me over the first day on the trail. The
geometry on the scalpel is crazy. Its so foward thinking and very
aggressive stance works incredible well. U r basically sitting right on top
off the rear tire giving u a lot of traction and the handlebars r almost
over the front tire. I love it!! Great job Cannondale!!
I have the 2013 Scalpel 2 and absolutely love it. Hovering around 200lbs,
it's one of the few race bikes that I can't feel flex: so stiff. You do
have to stay on it, but I have done a 100 miler on it and it never felt
twitchy even when I was gassed at the end. For me it's an age appropriate
trail bike. Suspension setup is critical, it can be dialed fairly plush,
for an xc rig.
awesome mountain xc bike!!!!! every pedal effort goes into forward
motion!!!!! bike slays!!!!!you can not go wrong buying one of these!!!!!
new updated lefty,1x11,paint job is to die for...i have a 2012...love it to
death...
you guys are my new favorite for bike reviews. The beer in hand, the
occasional foul language, the ride analysis .... keep it up. For someone
green but technically astute and in the market for a new bike it's perfect.
yeh! I was getting these little bumps at the top of my forehead and one day
put two and two together! haha Still can't work out why I have white feet
and hands, that the tan lines just stop suddenly - I'll get there one day
tho ;) hehe
I realised that I get acne when I eat bread. I wasn't eating much of it for
a year but for past 2 weeks when I have been visiting my parents more often
I usually was eating just bread and right away acne all over my neck, boobs
and a little on face (it is not horrible, but since I haven't have them and
now all of the sudden I do, I think gluten can also be a problem).
+NESS. great. I also use tea tree oil :) yeah.. I never buy bread.. just sometimes when I go somewhere they don't have any fruit or anything so if I don't bring my own food, bread is the next option... but yeah.. I get bloated too after bread.
Yeah I now ppl who can smash bread and no acne and others stay away from it. I don't avoid it completely but when I have it I stick to a little bit because it tastes so yeasty and bloating. I like certain breads over others too, some are gen not tasty. I put tea tree oil on my Neck last night to see what would happen and it has dried up the area which is good.
That's good to hear! Yea mine started from playing soccer, then every time it is nearly healed I get cocky and go run up and and down lofty or something, so this time I am seriously resting it and only doing really easy rides, walks and swimming, it's getting better slowly but surely !
Great, I've been meaning to ask about your injury, my knee was hurting so I got a proper fit which helped but didn't completely fix and I also started doing core exercises for cyclist which i can feel making a difference. The book is called Tom Danielson's core advantage. I totally rate it. My core was weak af and I've been doing these exercises for only a week or two and can really notice my muscles engaging more when I ride or just walking around x
