Well, the jello happens for the same reason that waving your hand in front
of an old tube television looked wobbly. The screen is updating with
interlaced lines that alternate at 1/30th of a second. By taking video in
progressive scan, you are essentially taking 60 complete still pictures per
second. Now this can still result in mellow if the video is interpreted as
interlaced like an mpeg to be watched on television. But you can take that
60p video and cut out every other frame (continued)
The settings themselves don't seem to do much for me. There aren't that
many settings to change. I go with higher progressive scan, so 1080P, and
PAL 50Hz rather than NTSC 60Hz. The reason for this isn't because it gets
rid of the wobble. It actually doesn't appear to change much. But it sets
me up for getting rid of the wobble in my video editor after the flight. I
use Sony Vegas and downsample to 25 frames per second, progressive. Using
808 #18 and GoPro HeroHD.
Scary wobbles - noticed you were using an 808 there, which seem a lot
harder to get wobble free on a multi - be interested to see if you can get
it jello free - and if so how you mount it. Been looking to resurrect my
tri, but keeping it light so maybe going the 808 instead of a GoPro
My 808 #18 is jello free on a small toy quad and just generally. The most
important thing comes from the world of film and video
production...progressive scan (the 'p' in 1080p) gives you the tools to
exterminate jello in post. But interlaced video is doomed from the start.
(Continued) every other frame in a program for video editing and your jello
will be gone. Render in true progressive and it's perfect. Want even more
cinematic results? Use the PAL standard, which is 25p/50p. 25p being very
close to cinema film's 24 frames per second.
I hear i am a video guy but even in 720p or 1080p you can still get jello
with vibration. What are you finding is the best setting if there is one if
you have some slight vibration issues.
Ya it was bad just threw it on. This was a random flight and i did not take
care to do anything but throw it in the air. I have a new fixed version
that is looking better.
What settings to do you like. Oh and this was not an 808 :) HD19 i am going
to be testing out on a flying wing but decided to test on the t-copter
first.
This is my number 1 spot that I'm considering getting married at. But it's
4 hours away from me and it's a little out of my budget. So sad, I think
it's absolutely beautiful here!!
