Hi! I'm going to Cambridge this October, so I've been browsing Youtube for
videos which give me some insight as to what it's like to live in
Cambridge. Just wondering... are you at St Catharine's by any chance?
For me it's the pressure from supervisors and my director of studies, along
with everybody else doing the work - I can't be the one person who gets
behind and doesn't study. Also, it would be pretty stupid to not work hard
- after years of hard work to get here, nobody wants to fail the exams at
the end of the year. Failing exams = kicked out of Cambridge.
I'm afraid I don't know any details about American applications. If you
Google Study at Cambridge and find the Undergraduate section of the
website, then click Find Out More and then Get in Touch, there is contact
info for the Cambridge Admissions Office. Send them an email and they'll
explain everything for you. Sorry that I can't personally help.
I dunno, I've found plenty of areas I'm not interested in. :P To be honest,
the Cambridge course is too theoretical and mathematical for my liking. So
far this year, I'm enjoying the module called 'Computing Graphics and
Imagine Processing' the most. That's quite interesting, and pretty relevant.
Hey , do you know what qualifications you would need to get into Cambridge
for an American student. SAT score and or how many AP's you would need ?
I'm interested in applying next year but am a bit confused. If you could
help me out I would really appreciate it. Thanks.
i love watching your vlogs. despite your education being light years beyond
mine, and how mature and professional you seem, your personality has this
very amateur charm to it. i think that's what makes these videos so
enjoyable.
Yeah, I'm sure you at least stand a chance of getting an interview. Most
people get interviewed so it's definitely worth applying, and then if you
can impress the interviewers a lot, your grades become less important.
I think everything in this video was done with my iPhone (4S). I have a few
clips in the other vlogs that I used the DSLR for, but it's obvious when
I'm using that. So yeah, just good quality from my mobile. :)
Your vlogs are really nice, I'm curious about your motivation. You guys have
so much opportunity to go outside, to play games,to have fun. But you are
still studying. So What does keep you studying?
That's alright , thank you for the advice. I will try and contact them.
Also your blog is interesting. Have a nice time at Cambridge it looks
amazing. Hope I make it there soon.
I'm doing an arts based degree so this is really interesting to watch to
see how opposite it is compared to my course; like the style of your vlogs
too:-)
Also more power to you , computer science boggles my mind. My friends love
it. They try to explain it to me and I get lost. It sounds really
complicated.
Open this video for Cambridge vlog. :) Cambridge is such a lovely town,i have had such an amazing time while i was there! :) I hope i will visit it soon again :) ...
+Yagnesh Desai hey I just put up a video about my RSI and what I'm doing to improve it. I only messaged you because I believe you have the same condition as me which is thoracic outlet syndrome. hope my info helps if not sorry but we have very similar symptoms
+Andrew Gillett thanks I was just curious because your story seems like it deserves a happy ending. I believe I have TOS and I'm going to get physio for it. I will let you know how it goes
+Yagnesh Desai It is often hard to know exactly what is happening. I recommend the book "It's Not Carpal Tunnel Syndrome", but read it in conjunction with Explain Pain as it does not give the complete picture on its own.
+Yagnesh Desai RSI is a vague term and means different things to different people. Some, like the UK charity RSI Action, use type 1 RSI to refer to localised conditions like tennis elbow, and type 2 or diffuse RSI to refer to conditions which are less localised or which do not match any clearly defined conditions.
+Andrew Gillett the term rsi seems like it could cover so many injuries. I feel like when you have tingling in your whole hand you can't just call that rsi but instead it has to be a condition that falls under that blanket term. how do you feel about this?
+Andrew Gillett in your own words what is RSI in relation to nerves? I'm going to see a physio and my symptoms are tingling and pain in my hands and arms not muscular pain but nerve pain and I want to be treated for thoracic outlet syndrome. how did your physios go about treating RSI .did they perform first rib mobilizations? I don't believe that the nerve can just be trapped at a random point but it must be trapped in the thoracic outlet.
+Yagnesh Desai Within a few weeks I was doing far less typing, after 6 months I stopped work. I had made a partial recovery 6 months later but it has been complicated ever since. See my blog, argnet.fatal-design.com/rsi.php
+Yagnesh Desai Some of my symptoms are consistent with thoracic outlet syndrome, but the tests (which may not be very reliable) were negative. Anxiety can definitely contribute. Read the book "Explain Pain" which I talk about in this video.
I have not I'm trying to get prescribed for Physical Therapy today. have you or your doctors ever speculated that you have thoracic outlet syndrome? One last question, have you ever speculated how much of your symptom are due to anxiety ? I feel as though mine are highly heightened by the fear that I will never get better even though it's only been 3 months.
+Andrew Gillett man that's scary same thing happen to me. I have been dealing with this for 3 months with only slight improvements. any advice you can give for some one in the early stages? my symptoms are tingling in the hands and forearms, mostly the hands and it is only so annoying because it intensifies when I walk.
+Yagnesh Desai I did in mid 2008 (at a time when things were improving) and they were negative.
