I know that tank is terrible, I had to grind through it myself. One thing I
found semi-effective is to only make as many left turns as possible. If
done correctly you will reveal only a very small portion of your tank while
being able to still fire. Also your manlet is decently armored. Just saw
the end of the video and DO NOT UNLOCK THE T29 FROM THE M4A3E2. If you do
you will end up at tier 7 with a 76mm without adequate penetration to
battle the other tier 7s let alone the tier 9s you will see
The m3 lee ain't that bad, i grinded my entire way through it and you just
need to know how to play it. It's a city brawler, having it's gun placed on
the right of the tank means that you can hide pretty much your entire hull
behind a building in your left and still be able to shoot. Also the higher
level gun does a significant amount of damage in it's tier and has good
penetration. It's not by far, the worst tank in the game ( just play the
amx 40 and you'll see what a bad tank is )
It's a Light tank, it's purpose in tier VII fights is to spot enemy thanks
and keep them visible so allies can tke them out, you'll get experience and
credits is someone damages tank that you've spotted, so buy a binocular
telescope and a camoflage net, find a good bush or good covered position
somewhere near enemy team main route and just stant still there, that's all
you have to do in such battles, easy and rewarding ;) (sorry for bad
english, I'm russian)
sgt. a word of advice. Grind the lee for the m4 and the t1 it will make you
a better player. I know the lee sucks but once you know how to use it the
lee will become a good tank. I had a very good run with the lee. Now the
reason you want the t1 is because it will teach you to how to play a heavy.
American heavies had good turret armor but crap hull armor. You will need
to learn how to hull down with t1 if you skip the t1 you will get tore up
on the m6.
The Lee is a thing of its own. When i got this tank way back earlier in the
days of WOT i gave up the game entirely for about a year just because of
this tank. Eventually when i learned to play the game and learned to
adapted to each tank the M3 became a beast of its own. Its gun is amazing
IF you can aim. Its similar to the Wolverine where if you can play it
you'll do well.
I can see why the M3 is not a favoured tank because just from watching it
visually looks cumbersome and not too much manoeuvrablity to it in
comparison to the other Tanks and Tank Destroyers by the looks of it but
then again the advantages of it look decent like the support role you
commented upon.
Merrell, if you want good AMerican heavy tank games, you have to go with
the T1 HT, the next heavy tank can unlock the 90mm cannon and the T29 will
come with the 76mm stock and that gun is useless. until you get the same
90mm gun on the T29 or the 105mm gun that will cost you 18,000 xps
now they neec to buff this thinb so it can use both guns but the turret one
is 37mm but has 100 pen and 35 damage and shoots 30 rounds per minute and
the hull gun should be a derp and has 0.47 accuracy and takes 6.3 secs to
reload.PLS PEOPLE TELL ME WHYT U THINK ABOUT MY IDEA
Sarge I HIGHLY recommend you DO NOT use the M4 to get to the T29 heavy.
Thats a VERY bad idea, as going through the T1 Heavy and M6 get you modules
for the T29 which will make its grind much much easier and a lot less
stupid. Especially the M6s 90 mike mike cannon.
sarge if you want to get the T29 go down the T1 heavy path because you get
the M6 which has the 90mm you can use on the T29.If you use the E2 to get
the T29 then you have to use the 76mm to get the 90mm on a tier 7 which is
a bad thing.
No, and that's really a game mechanic fault (or perhaps balancing). There's
no way to operate two turrets with the current mechanics, and perhaps
that's something to address in a future update. It would certainly beef up
the M3 Lee.
but if you plan on going down the t29 you want to play the m6. because on
the m6 you get the awesome 90mm gun. nut on the jumbo you only get the 76mm
gun.trust me you do not want the t29 with the gawd awful 76mm gun trust me.
just a word of advice. the t1 heavy is a bad tank. you shouldn't get those
two tanks in between. unless you really want them. american heavies get
really good after you cut into that line from the sherman jumbo
Just a warning Merrell, the M6 gives you access to a 90mm gun that is
absolutely 100% necessary on the T29 Heavy tank. without it, the tank is
just really painful, you're fighting on T7 matches with a 76mm gun.
Careful going the medium line to avoid unlocking the m1. You'll find
yourself back in the heavy line without the 90mm that you will need. Stock
grind in the heavy line without the 90mm from the m6 is painful.
yeah I know haha! It's just sometimes my teammates stop babysitting me lol,
and then a KV-1 bumps along and im trying to run my ass out of there and
boom...gone...and you're english is perfect dude rofl
Just a heads up, the M4 is also not that great of a tank. It has a very
tall profile and relatively thin armour for its tier. The main benefit is
that it can sport a fairly potent gun.
Personally I hated the M3 Lee, but I'm going down both paths, already
unlocked the T1, and working on the M4 now. That first game though is
something I did not expect out of that tank.
Got to love the Lee, the damn thing was designed back when they weren't
really sure how to build a tank. It's main gun only has 25% rotation and is
based on a battleships design.
The lee isn't a bad tank, good RoF, trouble is that many don't play it like
its TD counter part- the T40. And that is my only problem I have with the
Lee, the T40 is a better TD.
The M3 is referred to as a Fire support platform in my WOT company, so yes,
its a very good support, its not meant as a front liner, which is how many
try to use it.
Hey man, I tweeted @ya...I saw u in the Arma3 Hostile Takeover server for
like 4 secs! I was looking fwd to playin with (or against) ya...next time.
Good vid. Cooper
As far as I know both got great support and community... I myself used to
play the EU one... And SergeantMerrell plays the US one... So I guess Its
all cool...
Merrell, once you struggled over the M3 Lee and get the M4, it will be one
of the best tanks you ever used. Getting the M4 made me deal with the M3.
Worth it
Hey Sergeant Merrell, this is DatGuyWhoSnipes from VVAR, i havent seen you
for a while and im wondering if you quit Planetside 2 or are you taking a
break?
I would recommend grinding out to the T1 heavy. Painful as the M3Lee is.
The experience you gain from the tier 5 and 6 heavies is very valuable.
Have fun.
WoT is shit. Cannot wait for War Thunder's ground forced patch. But I
suppose ill suck it up for now and watch
