Check out some of the roles Zinc plays in your body. Should you be supplementing with Zinc?

So I got a question Ben :)
I am an undergrad, working with Cas9 system in my laboratory. So why Cas9
is so innovative if we already can edit the DNA with Zinc Finger? Is there
any reason why?
Where you attend school does not matter.A lot of high school student come to our lab and volunteer for one semester.My professor is very generous to them, and give them chance to work with all the tools for genetic engineering.A lot of high school student working in our lab have access to CRISPR-Cas9.You can find a lab with a lot of household work, and help them out for few months. Then they will let you work with CRISPR-Cas9 system or whatever things they have :)
+VeROVEro That's fantastic that you are getting to work with Cas9! That is nowhere near possible where I attend school but I'm writing a report on CRISPR/Cas9 and I find it to be utterly fascinating.
+VeROVEro ZFNs have relatively low resolution in uniquesequence recognition and hence low specificity. This is partly becausethe ZFP region contains a tandem array of Cys2-His2 zinc fingers,and each motif (finger) recognizes 3 base pairs (bp) of nucleotides [1].Thus, unique target sequence recognition in the eukaryotic genome isdifficult. An cohesive narrative that makes sense?! Congrats you write notes and
explain things better than my lecturer did about this. It confused the hell
out of me until I found this. :P
+Kareem Farouk Lancaster university. I was as part of my course doing DNA technology. The lecturer did not explain it that well and it took me a while of working out and looking for the best way to understand it.
A bluish-white, lustrous metallic element that is brittle at room
temperature but malleable with heating. It is used to form a wide variety
of alloys including brass, bronze, various solders, and nickel silver, in
galvanizing iron and other metals, for electric fuses, anodes, and meter
cases, and in roofing, gutters, and various household objects. Atomic

Zinc is involved in about 300 enzyme systems and magnesium in about 400;
zinc is important for skin and eye healing, health of male prostate;
prevents flu and colds. Zinc glycene chelate recommended between 12-15mg
per day; too much zinc effects copper deficiency with symptoms such as
anemia. Recommends taking zinc and copper together.
I was told that Zinc, Copper and Magnesium would help with my
Depersonalization Disorder. I'll be wanting to take these supplements
anyway for the health benefits but would store bought supplements help? I
also heard bad reviews on supplements too.
Phytic acid in certain foods decrease the body's ability to absorb zinc in
the gut. I think phytic acid is in foods like grains and legumes (beans).
Vegetarians often get a zinc deficiency because of this.
I love zinc..I have been suffering from acne and zinc really helps..i take
100mg of zinc a day for about 1 month now..I also take copper and
magnesium..
