Cash for Compo - Brett's Story
Brett Griffin injured his back through working more hours than he should have been riding a motorcycle and delivering mail. As a consequence, Brett was ...
Brett Thank you for sharing your story. I have had trouble finding anybody
willing to go public with their dealings with #AustraliaPost .I have been
trapped in the same system for years. From Hernias to 2 spinal injuries and
depression. I have been pushed to the point of suicide I cant say alot atm
as I have a case before the AAT atm. But I am honestly getting to the point
for my own sanity to just blow the whistle on the lot. I have also made
submissions to the Harassment Intimidation and bullying service ( which is
also an internal Auspost service) and have been fobbed off. Please feel
free to look me up I could do with any support or advice.
TO RIGHT ! , Aus Post runs its own COMPENSATION SCHEME which is only
regulated not run by COMCARE, so while big brother(comcare) isnt watching
Aus Posts doing as they like treating injured workers TERRIBLY and getting
away with it, your UNION the CEPU while vigilent realy need to kick into
gear on this & other important issues facing Post workers, my Postie
informed me of the different start times issue, 2 posties same job 1 starts
1/2 hr earlier and earns $190 a week more how is that fair.??
I feel for you Brett I worked for them for nearly thirty years I really
enjoyed my job for the first twenty five years then management adopted a
take no prisoners approach After that the bullying and intimidation began
subtly at first then more aggressively as time went on the intent was
obvious get rid of people like yourself or anyone who's been there more
than five minutes. I finally tired of this and retired so they now have to
pay me an indexed CSS pension for life. AP managers=scum
3 years later brett received medical bills for this that post refused to
pay for. EG Dr consultation charges and more totaling about $3000. Poor
form post poor form
Very good video showing step by step Post tension slab
+Rockin Pip Once the cables are tensioned correctly the channel that they were fed through must be filled with a liquid hardener. They pump it in one side and once it's full it pours out the other.

There is a prestressed beam bridge being built near my house, every I pass
it I would stop to take pics of the progress.
One fine day, they did the tensioning of the cables, but I wasn't there due
to covering news somewhere. Was so disappointed. NO wonder they did it
within a day, all five beams because from your videos, some little jacks
and they can do the job fast.
But I would have been happy to see the real thing in -situ
nice video.... very helpful info to my current project.... yeah, how many
days does it take to commence stressing? I guess around 90%-100% after
achieving maximum strength (28days)????
+Sterling Francis In the US the stressing is done once the field cure cylinders reach 3000psi in strenght (typically). Stressing is done 3 to 4 days after the concrete is placed. I don't know about these guys though.
They fill the post-tensioning duct tubes with grout to prevent the cables from being exposed to air or water. That would cause corrosion which would greatly reduce the compressive strength of the tendons.
