Predators have no choice but to kill and eat other animals to survive. Jane Goodall's (unfortunately out of print) book on them is called "Innocent Killers" to make this very point. Impalas are not endangered. Their IUCN status (see Wikipedia) is Least Concern. The Wild Dog is threatened/endangered. Then comes Threatened/Critically Endangered. Then comes Extinct in the Wild. There are probably less than 5000 Wild Dogs left. There is an animal to be concerned about in the video: the Wild Dog.

One of my favorite animals! The wild dog is an endangered species built for the kill, which has the best “hit rate” out of all the main plains carnivores. African hunting dogs hunt in packs, and will run after their prey until surrendered. Their killing strategy is somewhat cruel (as you can see in this incredible footage): they dismember it, ALIVE! Thanks for sharing this unbelievable scene! ;-)

Why feel sorry for the impala? Would you rather the dogs go hungry and die? Why not feel sorry for the grass the impala ate? If you are viewing and posting on youtube for fun then you likely live a life of luxury where you have others kill your food for you, and you never have to see this part of life. But we all live thanks to the loss of life of others.

This was partially interferring with nature the way the dogs were able to catch the impala after it crashed into the safari vehicle, making it easier prey. Natural nature is if predators catch their preys without human intervention. Although the deer would've been lunch anyways it wasn't fair to bump into man made objects to speed up it's fate.

The impala was completely exhausted by the time the dogs grabbed it. Wild dogs have phenomenal stamina and frequently pursue their prey to the point of exhaustion. The impala would have been killed whether or not it ran into the truck. Amazing how fast the pack tore the poor thing apart once they brought it down.

I live in kenya even if the truck wasnt there that impala was gonna die. only two predators are capable of taking an impala down first cheetah cause of its speed and second wild dogs cause they hunt in large number. lions and leopards are not fast enough. i have been to maasai mara i have seen soo many

Amazing footage!!! Being a prey animal in Africa,it's way better to be ripped apart by wild dogs than being eaten alive from the groin/balls by lions...it may seems cruel but in few seconds it's done. Ask buffalos if they like to be hunted down by lions...way more painful.

For this reason, people despise wild dogs, because, they eat their prey while it's still ALIVE. If it were dead, that wouldn't be so hard to watch, The fact that it's alive is a BRUTAL sight to say the least...;(

The dogs kill or they die from starvation. Id rather die by a pack of wild dogs than starve to death. Anyone who feels bad for the impala better be a vegan or they have no right to say anything.
