I and my production company just have had the exact same scam offered me and until I saw your video I thought it was real but was beginning to have my doubts when they didn't look at my film work or even mention it. They asked for the same thing, 20 videos or 500/min of footage exploring the US. I put in about 40 hours of work on the proposal and then they asked for me to present a contract so when I spoke to my attorney he clued me in on scams from China. But when I saw your video and saw it was the exact amount of footage (20 videos), I knew it was the same exact scam. Thank you and so sorry this happened to you!!1

Thanks for doing this Tom. It's critically important to know this is going on. But, it is just the hem of the garment when it comes to doing business with China. I'm not sure how aware people are that China is doing a thriving business in knock off products. Not all things that come out of China fall into this category, there are some very good, honest and upright business people there. It's too bad that the good business people are painted with the same brush as the unscrupulous people. It just makes everyone in China look bad. 

Our studio was contacted by HENAN YUDA INDUSTRIAL CO,LTD to do documentary video about Malaysia.We're also invited to Zhengzhou to sign the contract. We thought we could not risk ourselves of getting kidnapped/ lose our kidney,should the contract signing does not go well in China. We invited the CEO to come to Malaysia and offer to cover the CEO’s air ticket. We became sceptical when they asked us to wire USD 900 for the CEO’s business trip. A bunch of thanks for sharing this scam around.

Thank you Tom! We also received a request from another "company" from Xi'an , China, named YALONG IMP & EXP Trade Co Ltd trying to scam us too. They asked and confirmed a budget for hiring us 30 performing artists. We discovered their website is online since 1 month ago only, and they confirmed us without watching any of our videos either, that are also posted in Youtube. Then we found your site and video explaining their fraude modality. Be ware! Same Scam but different company name!

Wow. We have bit hit up by another scam where we are hired to film an event and edit a highlight reel by a company outside of the US. They ask for an invoice and claim they will send a check from another company in the US. It never gets much farther than that but the most recent one used a real company name and address in Scotland. I am not sure what the end result would be if they actually sent the check.

We were approach back in May and recently again here in Canada. I think the reason we got so far down the path the first time was the fact that they were so detailed. To come up with a scope of work (to me) shows some background in the industry. My boss would not let me go to China when he discovered that they had no website. The latest scam they do have a website but it's very non-discript.

Found your video through a friend posting the link on his Facebook page - although you lost some money which is always a bad thing, you were lucky in a lot of respects. There have been tales of people going to do business in places like Nigeria and actually being murdered for not going through with the scam! Thanks for sharing your experience with us!

Worst part is if you do pick up on the scam or end up confronting their motives and they get angry, the Chinese govt will get a report that you are bad to do business with, probably falsify facts and pad the situation in their favor. If their govt can be convinced/bribed you can be denied a visa for future business.

Another scam company is Oldway Industrial Co Ltd from Shenzhen China. We were also victims in the same way. We received an email from Elsa Xu and also travel to China to sign the contract. We've stop at the right moment. Do not go to China to sign contracts if you are the seller!

Oh yeah, they are truly scam artists. The beauty of the scam is that they don't ask for money until you are in China. And afterwards it's like watching the movie again but knowing the twist at the end, and you realize it was all just theatre, like being in the Truman Show....

We've got same e-mail today! I'm the producer in our company. I immediately suspected a tricj, because the letter has been sent from strange e-mail address and the title was not officially formalized. I started to looking for information and found you video. Thank you!

I have a machinery shop and even that I haven't answered them on any of the mails that they send me over times they are still trying to convince me to product 1.000.000 pieces of some products. I have to admit that they are trying hard ......xxaaxxaaxaxax
