Growing up in Utah as a non-Mormon
What it was like growing up in Utah as a non Mormon. Mormon is a nickname for members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints.
Mormon town names: La Verkin, Panguitch (John D Lee is buried in the
basement of the B&B Prince Williams) Parowan, Paragona, Moab, Blanding,
Upalco, Neola, Heber, Nephi, Moroni, Virgin, Washakie, Defas, Manti, Loa,
Kanab, Nephi,Uvada, Callap, etc etc etc
+Leah Jerome But if you're in Utah it is! lol.... I like the same Gunner too. There was a celeb years ago with a kid name Gunner (can't remember who) who has a kid named Gunner.
It's funny the misconceptions what people say about Mormon people they are
clean cut people with the morals of Jeb who spend their time helping people
in need wherever help is needed in the world I have never meet a Mormon I
didn't like in my 30 years as a church member and the concept of plural
marriages is so unfounded that the people who believe it live in the dark
ages.
God gives forgiveness where forgiveness is deserved, I'm sorry Scott that you don't believe in a higher power but I would like to ask my God to bless you with good health if you don't mind because a little blessings never hurt any body. peace to you and have a great weekend.
+James Pearson I wasn't offended. However, let's keep the harsh attacks for ideas and beliefs, where they can serve a purpose to make us think and grow our world view. There's no reason for personal attacks, that just slows progress while wasting energy.
Scot my intentions was not meant to attic you as a person and if I did I do apologize because it was I that felt like you were attacking me ,I am old enough to know that if I have wronged someone I need to make it right if not it's on me I would not intentionally hurt anyone because of there religious beliefs.
Or you could just provide evidence for the assertions you made about: polygamy being unfounded and an ancient idea, even tho it's clearly still a problem forward your church, or that Mormons are morally sound people and likeable folks. My evidence I am submitting, contrary to the latter claim (see above), is the response from you to my posts.
+James Pearson ha - thanks for the chuckle! ( I'm assuming you were being facetious, from the emptiness of your threats and blatant ignorance of reality - given the facts: you accused me of a Catholic who "bashes" others, you attacked my intelligence, and you participated in a public forum [only talk to people you want a response from in private, instead you just publicly humiliated yourself with lack of thought] ) however, if you are being serious, then you might be the most willfully ignorant person I have ever encountered and I have nothing more to say to you, as it's a waste of time.
Apparently your not a thinking person because I never said anything bad about your religion or anyone elses you decided to jump in to my post and put your own two cents into, my comment, who asked you for it in the first place ? why don't you come down south and i'll be glad to put my foot where your mouth is they call it Southern Hospitality Marine Corps style.
+James Pearson I would suggest that if you're going to self identify as Mormon, than you should own your beliefs. Take responsibility for being associated with the openly racist, homophobic cult you claim membership of. Don't pretend polygamy was a weird practice from medieval times - you may be fooling yourself, but you're not fooling me or any thinking person.
+Scott Mattern I apologize for not addressing another of your comments previously, but I will now. Attacking ideas is a good thing, it's how you get to truth. I won't attack you personally though, bc I do know you were likely indoctrinated at an early age.I will assume the Mormon god is the only god you believe in. Out of the thousands of made up gods, we are both mutually atheist for all of them except one. Statistically, or mathematically speaking we are virtually identical. There's just one more god I don't believe in than yourself. Learn to think for yourself, do a little research, and maybe one day you will free yourself from the moral poison institutionalized by your church.
+James Pearson I find religion interesting because it was the first attempt humans made at explaining the world. However, I am a rational thinker, so I do not believe in any superstitious beliefs, Mormon, Catholic, or otherwise. I'm especially interested in Mormonism bc it's so easy to see past the fraud, which is why I replied to you.Instead of personally attacking me, would you please address the question I posed to you.
Well Scott you must be an expert on religion especially LDS you are probably a practicing Catholic who spends their days bashing other people's beliefs.
How is polygamy unfounded? The LDS founder personally started polygamy in the religion. A practice not ceased until the federal gov't forced Utah to ban it in 1890, while the church didn't change its views until 1904, and still today fundamentalist sects continue the practice. Do you not know any LDS history? Btw, 111 years ago is not the dark ages. Mormon people are not bad, it's the religion itself that is a disease for society.
