Check the yellow pages and find a good psychotherapist to deal with your issues that you have had since a child which more than likely would include physical and sexual abuse. Dogs are "safe" humans are not. In that case people like you take refuge in the company of 4-legged "humans" which is psychologically mixed up. I hope you get the help you need. If you cant find a psychologist in the yellow pages internet for your city will help you I am sure.
