The prohibition of eating pork is considered a commandment for which their is no rational explanation (khok), amongst others, like the prohibition of wearing wool and linen woven together.  However there are many commandments that do have a rational explanation and are self-evident.  The khukim (plural for khok) separate a religion of faith from a humanistic philosophy, the latter which is all presumably rational and asks no faith or actions from its adherents.

Evolutional theory doesn't say that human beings "came from monkeys", but that at some point very far back, there was a common ancestor that branched off into various trees.  But as a believing Muslim, it is highly probably that this is useless to discuss this with you.
