This was amazing to watch, and Professor Lott is the Brian Williams of
college professor interviewers. Haha! Anyway, this was so encouraging. I am
a great admirer of McDermott and I am also a community college nerd with
"the itch" she describes, and it's really great to see you guys talk so
intimately about this shiz. Pardon my slang. But thanks for posting this.

ALSO, I was a student in NY of the poet Grace Schulman, not realizing she
was so amazing. And she never told us either. But she believed in me, and
this reminded me of Alice (pardon the familiarity) and her tale about her
"tall tale" (jeez, why am I talking like this, I'm in my 20s.) ...Point
being, a professor's encouragement can make all the difference.
