Free Education Debate Highlights Leeds University Union
The highlights of the Free Education Debate last Wednesday at Leeds University Union. Should the Union support a stance on free education? Tell us what you ...
I love this Pastor. I wouldn't be here YouTubing his sermons right now if I
did not like what he preaches. But this one.. I disagree. Not totally mind
you. Just a little. But I also believe Education should be free. If your
going to build a strong Nation, and if you have been blessed with
knowledge.. TEACH it to someone. Pastor.. You have a gift at understanding
many things in the Bible that other's cannot. TEACH them! Even if they have
no money. We dont have to be profitable to be prosperous.
I find it very ironic that you stand in front of a world map and trying to
explain that education shouldn't be free. If you turn around you will find
multiple countries that not only have free education but countries where
students even get paid by taking an education. The worst part is, the
education level is about the same level as in Ivy league, and our economy
is way better than the US. But I guess you never passed the astronomy
section. You should try to go further to the economy section.
Now lastly, those people that study the body through "books and
experimentation" without structured learning. Mainly lack real
understanding of the body and use alternative medicines from China. Now I'm
sorry if you envy people that are professions in an area that you could not
ether afford to put yourself through college or you were not smart enough.
Either way, grow up. And stop dictating about a science that you have no
understanding of Now go back and watch some Alex Jones videos moron
Free education is fine if it helps society as a whole, if it's aimed at
creating a highly skilled workforce. But of course it isn't aimed at that
at all. As it stands right now, it's just a drain on the economy, trying to
force blacks to perform at the same level as whites and asians, and failing
that, to dumb down whites and asians to the level of the blacks. Japan and
Sweden have highly effective public education. This issue is WHO is in
control of the system, and what their goals are.
Just as a person who study’s medicine... your a moron. Drugs is not the be
all and end all of treatment. Also yes...college is needed to understand
not only drugs but anatomy and physiology. You need to understand
diagnostic medicine before you provide treatment. And I will tell you this,
2 years at high school will not prepare you to diagnose the body. I am
guessing you have never had to study the whole body. Because if you have,
you would not make such a stupid claim on health care
school doesn't equal education? well try to get a good job with a company
when you tell them that your education consists of nothing else besides the
books you read in the library. unfortunately it is reality-many
corporations only look at where that diploma comes from. of course you
don't have to worry about that. all your kids will go straight from home
school to serving full time in church or one of those blue collar jobs you
want them to get. easy to slam something you don't need.
Now most Doctors get paid roughly half a million a year in America.... you
know what I find really really funny? The fact you think drug companies
have so much money that they can manage to pay off thousands of near
millionaires just to use their drugs alittle more often than the others.
Its clear you have never been in health care and for that. It justifies why
you dont have a clue about what your talking about. Also you know what I
love aswell? The fact I know your a hypocrite
@tallswede80 But they probably won't do that. All it does is to have
children from a very young age sit in a classroom and have some teacher
that the parents of the children usually don't know that much about
something that parents don't exactly know about either and will maybe find
out later. A public school system is unnecessary and it also creates a
conflict of interest, when someone does not want to have their hard-earned
money going to something they don't want i going to.
@sanderson1611 I don't think it's about "government education", it's about
what the moral or immoral thing to do is. Isn't the government an extension
of the people who elected the officials into office? I wonder, is it better
that people can tap into knowledge for free rather than having to go into
debt to do it. It doesn't seem right to me that someone should be held back
from gaining a higher education because of their socioeconomic status,
perhaps a poor carpenter. WWJD?
@startthenstop Yes, when the church first started it was a commune.
Christians lived together, worked together and SHARED. Read Acts 4:32 and
onto chapter 7. Ananias is struck dead because he kept back HIS FAIR SHARE
from the pot, and the truth is, in this country, the wealthiest people are
not paying their fair share. In this country, the wealthiest are doing
phenomenol economically while people are on the streets, getting foreclosed
on, IT'S IMMORAL. Quit defending them.
@TheJsmth1234 I never saw any commune in the Bible, and God did not strike
him down because he kept back his fair share( whatever that means) He
struck him down because he lied knowing in his heart what was the truth.
The Top 1% already pay more in taxes than you or I ever do. Criticize the
policies that allow for rampant corruption. Get off of the fair share thing
bro, because it's vague as to what is the limit on what is fair. Is 90% of
your income fair enough to TAX!
Just curious: Where was all this rage when the Wall Street banks were
getting $700 billion in our money to pay for their gambling debts??? These
banks don't play by the rules: Their rule is: If we loose, then we need
state socialism to bail us out...when the little guy has tough times....too
bad. This is why people are outraged.. So if you're against the Occupy
movement, then what are you for: JPMorgan, Chase? Just let the big banks do
whatever they want?
Should University Education be free?
University or College Education is expensive in various countries across the world. I firmly believe that Higher Education should be free universally. SoBrian ...
I fully agree! Tuition is just ludicrous over here. I'm lucky enough to
have gotten some grants and the like and go to a relatively cheap school
but it's still tough and even tougher for many others. Why don't we help
invest in literally one of the most important things we can fund...smart
minds?
+PogieJoe USA needs to understand that pumping money into people will mean that money gets pumped into the country in the long run. Wouldn't you agree?
It should be free for people that earn it. If everyone went to college for
free then there'd be a lot of college educated garbage men and ditch
diggers. Why do they need a college degree for that?
The world wants a more educated society you try and get a job without a high amount of experience or a nice degree !! The days of low skilled jobs like McDonald's etc are hard to come by as even they demand a high amount of experience or qualifications which you can only get from work experience or college / university
+BlakeMcTavishe Personally I don't see University Degrees as a ticket for a job. If people want to better themselves and open their minds - why should their finances prevent that?
University and college education should be free
Recorded in Kitchener Ontario, professor Herbert Pimlott makes the case for free post secondary education.
Today a little girl came to my door selling magazines. I asked her why she
was selling magazines door to door. She said she needed money for college.
It hurt me to know that she would NEVER sell enough magazines in this
lifetime to pay for college. College education should be free we need to
help send our kids to school. How many wonderful minds have never had a
chance due to being born into poverty. Communist countries can give free
education and we cannot??? Someone explain this!!!!
What happens when there are 10,000 public relations degrees and there are
only 5,000 jobs? Wrong question. What happens when education is totally
free and there are 25,000 public relations degrees and only 5,000 jobs. I
imagine they'd just go back to school and get a different degree totally
free.
Imagine the impact on our taxes... ...Also, and I don't understand what you
mean by 10 000 people competing for a significantly lower number of jobs in
current society. By making university free, the competitiveness would be
much more superior...
