Hi, thanks for posting this. I've been searching for weeks to see if i was
the only one. I too seem to have this creeking issue and its driving my
family nuts. I was wondering, do you still own this car or did you find a
solution that worked? my concern regarding safety or the possibility of it
tunting into something expesive to fix later on. I figure you posted this
vid a few years ago, if you still own this car and the only issue is the
noise than I will not worry as much. thanks, Tony
January 2010 UPDATE: About 40 people have all written to me and told me
that their civic makes the same noise too! My car still makes this noise
from time to time. It will do it for a few months and then mysteriously
stop. Then a few months later it will come back. I don't know what is
causing it, and it doesn't seem to be affecting performance at all. Still
it is a mystery! Perhaps it is something inherently wrong with the 2003
Honda Civic Hybrid?
My word this is so annoying if naught a civic, which was fine on test drive
now it does the same thing. Its the steering rack that's faulty. There is
loads of info on the net regarding it. You can either replace the part,
just called slider. Or replace the whole rack. Some people have temporarily
solved noise by loading the rack boots up with grease. Its not unsafe just
annoying!
my sti 2004 is making this noise...changeing the wheel bearing to see if
that cures it..theres no play on the wheel...but a few people have said it
still cud be that as they had the same problem...cv joint, rack struts
springs etc all look fine and theres no play on them ill let u know how i
get on..
How come it never creeks when you turn. It seems to be creeking when the
steering wheel is straight and excellering. Maybe it's something else and
the vibration is going up the steering whee. I have no clue.
wow... I have the exact same noise under the same conditions. I noticed the
struts were bad and I just replaced those.. of course it's not helping the
steering noise!
I have this noise on my 95 Civic also. I had the both Upper Control Arms
replaced $200+ parts... and the noise stopped for a few months, but now
it's back! WTF!?
On a 95 civic its a different story. Most likely a faulty balljoint
creaking noise when accelerating, brake clicking
creaking noise when I accelerate, even without foot on the clutch, also loud click clacking noise from brakes when I start backing up out of the garage near the ...
It could be your steering rack as I had this problem on my Honda civic type
r common issue in Honda civics apprently. Just needs some grease on it. My
noises used to come and go and only happened when accelerating in lower
gears. Hope this helps
