Metal Detecting for Gold Nuggets in Victoria. Minelab GPZ 7000
Had a great day out in the Australian bush digging up gold Nuggets. I hope enjoy the video, if so give it a thumbs up. Stay tuned for more gold finds. Good luck ...
+Jeffrey Harris Gday Jeff, I've been using an all natural insect repellent called "natures botanicals", which seems to be doing the trick. Not sure if its available in the US, but I'm sure a google search will answer that,. Otherwise, people use fly nets but find them more annoying then the flies! haha. Glad you like the channel. Cheers. JG.
Is that pretty clean ground as far as trash metal, because your detector is
far quieter in terms of picking up many signals in a small area. My 7000
goes crazy even pointed at the sky. So hard to use. A guy I know who finds
nuggets all the time with a fisher gold bug told me my machine should be
quieter and not sound off constantly. I've tried the ferrite disc and that
helps for 5 minutes to quiet the machine down. I'm working an area with a
lot of iron trash.
+Believerification Yeah with the old software, it would become unbalanced if you hit too many metal targets, even gold!! So the new software should alleviate that. All metallic targets sound the same with the GPZ, gold will sound the same as a piece of iron. The symptoms of my faulty coil were it would give off a signal if the coil rubbed on on anything, rocks, sticks etc. It was changed under warranty. I have worked in high trash areas but they are pretty much undetectable so i just move on. It becomes far too frustrating to have the machine constantly sounding off so i just walk away. If you brought it from a minelab dealer they should be able to assist you as it will still be under warranty.
I balance it pretty often but once it starts hitting a lot of targets it goes nuts. Plus, many non-gold items sound identical (to my ear) to gold, which is confusing. What were the symptoms of your faulty coil? I'm not positive the update downloaded correctly---maybe that's critical. Have you worked high trash areas with your machine?
+Believerification Gday, if there is iron and junk in the ground you are detecting the detector will pick it up unfortunately. There is nothing you can do to prevent that. Are you sure its not out of balance and you're just getting ground noise? It could possibly be a faulty coil as the GPZ has had a few (mine Included). Where is your nearest minelab dealer? It could be a idea to send it back for a check up.
+GOLD DIGGER ADVENTURER nice one mate, looks like a good spot too, I love it there as well and so does my daughter Kiara....she is hanging out for another trip there, she's good at panning and just enjoys the outdoors as much as I do. :)
+Arthur Edwards .. Mate all up i ended up getting close to 9 grams of the finest dust gold you have ever seen.... I pumped hard on the shovel and worked my Highbanker to it's Max... I love it there!!!
