Bought in Australia with 6000km's on clock. Bought it 100% stock. I have added V&H Longshots with Bigshot quiet baffles, hot tips, floorboards, cruiser pegs, ...
+Aleksandar M. OK I told a lie, I have #48 slow jets. This was the best for the ethanol free fuel we use in Australia. Like I said before if u get on to the sabregroupforum go to their tech and mods section and there is more info there than u can poke a stick at. see copy below.Jetting basic starter informationby: Greg Belcastro (Rocketman) - Feb 2, 2013 This is basic starter information for anyone wanting to Re-Jet their Shadow Sabre. This information has been developed over time from members contributions on the TSG forum. The following information is a good, proven, starting setup for the Sabre bike. You may find that you need to do some more fine-tuning to get your bike to run the way you want. For more technical help be sure to post your questions on the TSG Forum.Dynojet Kit (Recommended Kit) - Dynojet Jet Kit:1100 cc HON 00-07 VT1100 SABRE SKU 1186 (US Shadow Sabres Only). Slow Jets are not included in this kit and must be ordered separately.Clean the carbs up. Check for cracks in rubber parts. Replace any damaged/deteriorated partsMain Jets: 165 Front / 170 Rear / Clip on 3rd notch from bluntSlow Jets: #48 if using aftermarket exhaust (not in Dynojet kit, you must buy these separately)Slow Jets: #45 if using stock exhaust (not in Dynojet kit, you must buy these separately)When adjusting Pilot Screws be sure that you LIGHTLY seat them by turning the Pilot Screws clockwise until they just seat. If you over-tighten the Pilot Screws you will damage the needles.Pilot screws: 1.5 turns out (counter clockwise) from lightly seated, if you are using #48 slow jets (adjust if needed)Pilot screws: 3.25 turns out (counter clockwise) from lightly seated, if you are using #45 slow jets (adjust if needed)Float level: 9.2mmCheck for cracks in Carb Boots. Replace boots if necessary.Make sure the carbs are seated correctly in the carb boots and the carb boot clamps are all nice and tight.Inspect the Sub Air Filter. It's probably deteriorated so replace it. The Sub Air Filter is located in a small rectangular box in front of the front cylinder carb.Put in a K&N Air Filter - K&N HA-1187 Honda High Performance Replacement Air FilterUse 87 Octane Regular Gas - The Sabre is a low compression engine, Premium fuel is for high compression engines. 87 octane is what is recommended by Honda for this bike.Note that when you see 91 RON as the recommended fuel for this bike, it is important to know that 91 RON = 87 Octane.Put in new NGK DPR7EA-9 Spark Plugs. Don't waste your money on more expensive plugs.Sync the carbsOnce again make sure the airbox boot and all the carb boots are seated correctly and the clamps are tight. You do not want any air leaks.Check the exhaust is torqued correctly and that there are no exhaust leaks. My recommendation is to go with an aftermarket set of pipes. If money is tight sometimes you can find a used set for sale at a better price. I bought my Bub's from my local Honda dealer and they did not charge for shipping. If you remove your exhaust be sure to always remove the old exhaust crush gaskets and replace with new ones. Here are two sources for Slow Jets for the Sabre:The aftermarket jets are just as good as the Keihin jets. Be sure to order a set of #48 and #45 jets so you can experiment with which size works best for you. You will need one slow jet for each carb.Aftermarket Slow JetsGenuine Keihin Slow Jets
+Aleksandar M. Yes mate the pilot jet is the one that fixed the popping on decel. The slow jet deals with the throtle from idle to about 1/2 open then the main jets kick in. Get the #45 slow jet in then set your air/fuel srews out about 1 1/2 turns each. You may also need to balance the carbs with some vacuum gauges. I got all my info from the Sabregoroupforum. These guys know every little thing about these bikes and a great source of info.
+BigTed ManShed Thank you dude, I have problem with my Spirit 1100, I did re-jet, Dynojet stage kit 1 1188 main jets 170 and runs great, good choke but I still have problem with decel popping. I read the forums and watch your video, that the pilot jet solves decel popping problem. So, I buy Keihin pilot jet N424-21 #45, in few days I will change it. P.S. Sry for my bad english.
Nice bike, I had one too(2010)! Only thing is, to me that is, I never felt
right around my buddies who were riding deep sounding Harley's, even with
Cobra exhaust, the shadow felt hollow and tinny(very spacey). Sold it
within 6 months and bought the real McCoy! Never looked back. All the power
to you Bro, keep it going hard!! Nice video!!!
Wonderful job, I love the exhaust sound, the bike looks really nice. I have
the 2012 model, the tank also come in flat black in my, same intake on my
bike, Cobra PwrFlow, i love it. Nice ride Fernando. Buen trabajo!
Hell yeah! Very nice. The black Cobra Power Flo looks sweet on this bike. I
have the Shadow RS with upgraded exhaust, intake and fuel management.
Though it's nowhere near tricked out like yours.
I just bought one of these on Thursday. Is this the bluecollarbobbers kit?
I've been trying to get in touch with them for a few days without luck. Is
this just the standard Aero kit?
I put k&n filter and short shot pipes.also bought the FI 2000 and it turned
out useless because the bike runs the same woth or without. Where did you
get your side mount plate?
Yes its that kit! Except for the turn signals! The ones i have are joker
machine brand! And i didn't buy the handle bar! In other words i just
bought the seat kit!
nice clean bike.
the only thing i have never liked about these is that headlight.
i can't decide whether to go with 2 small HD's or a larger than stock one.
Yes thanks! Those were made specially for the bike! I was thinking maybe
changing the pipes! For the cobra pipes! I dont know which one would like
better!
Bobbers are amazing if you don't agree you are full of shit!!!!
2005 Honda Shadow Walk Around (custom) Cobra Streetrod Exhaust
This is my walk around video of a 05 Honda Shadow Spirit 750. I put aftermarket Cobra Streetrod Slashdown Exhaust, Grips, Mirrors, Side Mount License Plate ...
I am considering these pipes for my wifes Honda Aero 750. I read on the net
that they are terribly loud at 65-70 mph...and harsh sounding? We want it
loud (that's the reason fior the pipe switch) but not unbearable. What is
your opinion on the sound at highway cruising speeds?
this is just the perfect example of what id like to do with my future
shadow, did you change anything with the rear fender? and wheels? or its
just that lowering kit and the side mount that make it look so much cooler?
Lol
