If you asked most people in the UK whether they wanted to destroy our 'Welfare State' and pursue complete neo-liberal capitalism the answer would be a resounding 'no'.Other examples of the successful welfare state in Europe include Norway where even supermarket workers can apparently earn enough to have a fulfilling life.I think the problem that you don't realise is that your point of view is coloured by your ideology. You ask, in what I took as a very emotive tone, 'where have liberal views ever bought true benefits?'Well the obvious answer to this is that are lots of benefits and drawbacks from both left-wing and right-wing political theories. It is very easy to deconstruct either side, and the problem is that you don't deconstruct your own views to the extent that you're willing to deconstruct those of others.
