A V6 doesn't offer much more power considering it's usually a push-rod
design which at higher RPM's will succumb to valve-float which will kill
the power. A I-4 will yield higher stable RPM's, and with the DOHC set up
it's much more precise. A properly tuned I-4 should be able to take on a
small to mid-range V6. Of course, there's other things to consider. Tread,
tire composition, transmission, power/weight, driver experience,
aerodynamics, age, wear, road conditions, etc etc.
I've got an 05 Elantra. Dead, though. The VVT system gave out. /SadFace BUT
it gives me a chance to touch it in places that it wouldn't normally be
touched... like inside the engine itself. I would also like to point out
that it has 200,000+km on it, as it was driven every night for 6-10 hours
cause I had a delivery job that demanded I use my own vehicle. -_-
sure? i guess... umm.. there is no ricer 'Can' muffler on it, but hey, if
you think a old fashion glasspack is ricer, tell that to everyone whos got
a mid 60's small block running them. The sound you are reffering to is what
1.8l 16v 4 cylinders will sound like on straight pipe. dur..
TBH i prefer a deeper sound from the GLS motor it's like the most powerful
sounding DOHC they had back then so yeh but other than that beautiful car
beautiful sound and i need your engine specs if u have any mods please let
me know i have a 97 elantra GLS
Sounds good. Kinda makes me miss mine. Probably the best thing about this
car is the solid tranny. Practically indestructible. Too bad i had to junk
mine, would have liked to try a small turbo setup :/
i like the sounds of that i got an 05 elantra with an intake and catback
that fucker sounds good and will beat most cars round. dont let people talk
shit just tell them line em up

elantra?? I just bought a secret weapon intake but i don't know how to
install it.. can anybody help?
