+Leonard Schofield It depends on the factors I mentioned in the video, but also on their breed and their age. Some chickens lay one egg a day, others produce 1 egg every 2-3 days and others produce about 1 egg per week. Thanks for watching!
+Fensterfarm Greenhouse Wow, so many birds. We had a rooster that got so scared when he saw an owl that he had a heart attack. Their new house is great though; very safe from predators at night :)

Your chicken still laying eggs?
How do you know if your chicken is still laying eggs? Today we bring in the chicken doctor to discuss the ways that you can tell for sure whether or not she's ...
It shouldn't make a difference *unless the rooster kept the ducks from being aggressive and bullying the hens....if your ducks have put themselves at the top of your coop pecking order over the hens, then yes in an indirect way I would say it's possible it threw off the dynamic of coop pecking order. If the ducks run them off the feed or nesting spots or chase them, this is a pretty good indicator...muscovy ducks can be pretty aggressive like this in my experience.good luck!
could be,especially if the ducks are dominant in the pecking order over the chickens...hens gotta feel somewhat secure in their box to take the time to lay an egg,if ducks come by and they see them as dominant/ aggressive they will spook off their nest and end up laying eggs wherever they may fall.
So comb and wattle color indicate nothing as far as laying
condition?another question that I gotta ask is does this pubic bone
measuring formula apply to only young pullets/hens at the beginning of
their laying career?. ..does the space between pubic and keel bones go back
to being narrow in an older hen that has stopped laying? This would be the
most helpful for alot of people trying to cull out the non layers in their
mixed age or older flocks I think.thanks, great video!
I have the same question.....essentially, can you use this method to determine when to cull them out of the flock?
My Americauna chicken laying a beautiful blue egg
I video taped my chicken laying an egg. I will never non-chalantly eat an egg again after seeing the effort it takes to lay one. She stood in a stupor for about a ...
Yeah, they are much better! More vitamins and less fat. And another upside
too it, is that the chickens aren't treated cruelly, like the chickens who
lay the eggs in the stores are. :/ I only eat eggs from home owned chickens
now. I am getting some of my own soon. My neighbor has a lot of eggs so she
is always giving me a dozen or two. :)
