Lymbers .... you make a good point. Europeans only came to America about 500 years ago and after much fighting peace treaties were signed, broken, and kept. Native Indians, First Nations people and Europeans now live in peace and harmony side by side. Using your example ... why can Palestians not do the same with the Israelis? Why are the Palestinians unwilling to have permanent peace with Israel on the same soil? Even Native Indians and First Nations people forgave the Europeans and moved on.

My point of view is that in Islam religion and politics go hand in hand and the Qur'an expresses this in many sura's as well as in the life of prophet Muhammad we see this connection between religion and politics strongly.
