I heard this song on Pandora 4 years ago and I've waiting for it to be
posted online ever since. It's such a mood. Thanks for the post and and
thanks John for the experience.
Brilliant. This whole album is. Critics will be looking back on Time
Changes Everything and saying "Actually yeah, this is proper music, and a
damn fine album".
I come back to this song a lot. It's very good. And this thing about him
not being able to sing just isn't true. He's got a different voice, but
he's holding the tune and giving it feeling. Which is more than Ian can
achieve most days. I hope Brown keeps off the fags and gives singing a
proper go now they're back together.
He's not like singing haha...Maybe i understand him,i'm more into
songwriting and composing.Singing is awesome, and i think i can do it pretty
well...But is not good compared to feel the music in your hands :) I just
love his singing,he's also one of my greater inspirations for being
involved with other ways of art.
@dufc4uefa It's about Ian but also John's ex. His music is amazing and it's
a crime shame that people didn't get it. Not commercial enough, I guess. I
love him and I'm so pleased that he's back playing and that he and Ian are
friends again. It's the stuff of fairy-tales :D
This is the only tune Squire did since leaving the stone roses that I like,
and its about the godlike genius . Still love John though , everyone makes
mistakes and he deserved another chance . Pity it took so long , John is
still better than any other guitarest out there
@1919mum He's not about the singing, is he? He sings in tune, more than
"other people" ever did *cough cough*. He has a flat voice and not much of
a range, but does a decent job. And I ather have him, then any X-Factor
note perfect plastic-pop poser.
@JonathanBones I heard Ian singing a Beatles number during the rehearsals
of a recent gig and he was spot on. I think he'll do well, this time
around. And yes, I agree: John's voice is endearing.
John has a fantastic voice and Ian held it together well for Heaton Park,
it was the best gig I've ever been to and the best I probably will ever go
to
i like this , squire isint much of a singer he was always a good lyricist
and has always had a good ear for music and he cant half play the guitar,
its a shame his solo work didn't take off too good , saw him a few times,
but never the less his voice live is better then ian browns and thats
coming from a brow fan , it would be cool to see teh roses back and who
knows , its the thing to do at the moment reform , look at the verve , back
on form ,but i dont think theres a hope for the roses , xx
@ThereIsARain Blur return has been ANYTHING but lack-luster! They're
performance at Glasto 2009 was held one of the best return to the stage of
the last 15 years probably! And Hyde Park was a triumph! And I should know
as I was there! If the Roses were to return it should be for the right
reasons and I think he should be a one off gig just to put the ghost of
Reading '96 to rest once and for all. It can't end on that note... it just
can't!
so you think john has better vocals than reni? and brown was usually off
key in his singing, particularly live. most of the time, the one who does
the backing vocals or harmonies is a solid singer, sometimes even more
solid than the lead singer, or else the backing singer would just mess up
the singing all the more. and reni did a wonderful job singing harmonies
with brown.
Why are people so mean about his singing voice? Ok, he's no Sinatra, but
Ian Brown can sing just as much out of tune and as a matter of fact I quite
like John's tone. It's warmer than Brown's. John Squire is not about the
singing, but he delivers the song with great energy. I love this version,
out -of-tune voice and all! I just wish he came back!
Ok Browny is not the best singer of his generation, but to say the trully
awful vocals of Squire are better, is ludercrous. Browny has a much better
career since the roses than Squire. The fear, dolphins were monkeys,
corpses, cant see me, my star are far superior to anything Squire has done
since the roses with one exeption Love is the Law.
@amcardle1 Would you honestly like to see the Roses reform after all this
time? Look at all the bands that have re-grouped recently: Blur, The Verve,
Led Zeppelin, Happy Mondays... Everytime it's been pretty lack-luster. I'd
say: just leave the magic to the past. Let sleeping dogs lie. Plus, John
Squire's recent artwork is top-notch. :)
to all the hater's. squire has more talent than all you cunts put together.
the guy is a legend. there would be no oasis if it wasn't for the roses so
don't embarrass yourself by comparing the two. you obviously don't have a
clue. i rate squire one of the best guitar players ever. listen to the
second coming and tell me i'm wrong.
Ian wrote 90% of the lyrics. What ever you say about Ians singing the Roses
would never have made it without him.Proof of the pudding is in 5
successful solo albums for Ian and 2 shit albums for squire.Even his gran
didnt buy a copy!
he wrote every song on the second coming except straight to the man(ian
brown)and day break(all 4)the 1st album was squire brown,but the guy wrote
the guitar music also, which was technically brilliant tho under-rated
@riquelme64 He tried that and it didnt quite work. As musically talented as
the Seahorses were, they lacked the very things which made the Roses
great...Originality, passion and balls.
This isn't actually that bad, sounds a bit more rock then the original. You
honestly can't pull this song off without Reni, just sound right. John
Squire = Guitar God Reni = Genuis
This is shocking - absolutely nothing on the roses. What ever about Ian
Brown's singing live, there was a magic about it when he did it, no matter
how bad. This is just appalling.
15 Days, demo version by John Squire
This one is a demo home version of the song 15 days available on John Squire's first solo record, Time Changes Everything (2002) great record indeed, pretty ...
John Squire - All I Really Want From the album: Time Changes Everything I don't want to buy another thing I don't want to watch TV I don't want that pale blue ...
One of the few decent tracks off 2002 solo debut Time Changes Everything: a catchy Country-style tune with extended coda & John doing his best Bob Dylan ...
