Jaguar e type engine,Gearbox,Diff after being rebuilt
I made this video to show my brother in law, it just shows you can turn a pigs ear in to a silk purse with a lot of time, money and huge amount of work, The series ...
Jaguar XKE initial startup.
This is the first time this motor had been started post engine rebuild. This is an early 63 Jaguar E-Type with a 3.8 liter motor.
I have got a very good hint for you to keeping the nice old DOHC Engine in
good shape with todays ultra dry eco fuels: Use 1:100 API TC two stroke oil
/ fuel mix as regular driving fuel, that keeps the old fuel-system gaskets,
rubber parts, alloy parts etc... and cast iron metal surfaces of those
vintage engines in excellent shape...and it also lubricates the valves
and upper piston regions. Most Porsche vintage owners in Germany do so :)
Also keeps carbs and tank clean and rustfree
Thanks for watching from Sweden. The car is negative ground and the
positive runs to the solenoid switch. As for the carbs we were not
adjusting them, we were synchronizing them with the choke on. The
adjustment came later after the car was warm and the choke was off.
absolutely beautiful =D right now i am restoring my numbers matching 64. I
love it because you have the exact model colors as mine and i am searching
for the same D-type dunlops. Could you send me a link where you found them.
It would be a great help thanks, Danny
Sweet , shame it only has the US twin carb set up , Triple SUs would give
you more bang for your buck.
Jaguar SU HD8 carb e type rebuild part 6
the carbs are back together apart from the choke linkage which needs to be sand blasted and painted that's why the nuts are missing from the lower carb flanges ...
Bettie my 1963 Jaguar E-Type Restoration - Heater Box rebuild with Fiero Fan motor
I am rebuilding the heater box and adding the fan and motor from a 1984-88 Pontiac Fiero.
Haha - it feels like it! Northern California can get a lot of rain in the
winter if the jet stream dips low, we get the rain that Oregon and
Washington state normally get. It's not all bad, because the fresh water
supply can get too low here in the gaps when we get no rain at all.
According to the original modifier's notes he said the difference was night
and day. The original fan spins at 12 rpm on Hi, (likened it to a hamster
withi COPD blowing through a straw! LOL) This one will be a lot stronger,
and I don't have AC, so it may help on a warn day.
good vid john. hey just letting you know your past two video have been
looking kindy wobbly i think its from youtube and you select "your video is
shaky, do you want to fix this" i usually dont click that cause it does the
same thing to mine.
Yeah it is from YouTube's "we can improve this video" coding. It makes
things that are supposed to be stable move and the things that are moving
mroe stable. I fell for it again after trying it before and saying I'd
never use it again.
Have you moved recently? Rain made me feel quite at home! LOL Thanks very
much for the awesome shout out Sir & I really like the look of that fan
mod, doesn't look like it shouldn't be there (if that makes any sense)?
Am going to make an effort and get a video of some sort up on YouTube
before Christmas. Got loads of photos and some video of (progress?) to
date. Funny how things look a lot worse before they get better..
I steal only from the best ! :-) This was developed by another Jag E-Type
owner and he posted the steps on the text based owners forums I belong to.
It seemed easy, and sure enough it was.
That's a really cool mod. Great fit and looks stock, nice one John. I cant
wait to get to these stages with mine. I'm still scraping paint off the tub
for now and still covered in muck...
Thank you sir, I find the YTGG keeps me motivated to get things done so I
can share them. It's a mutual benefit, I enjoy watching others projects
come together too.
Yes, I felt a little distressed when I saw all the rust and grease/grim on
every item I removed. It's comming together again now, so that's a lot more
fun.
