FS Thunderbolt 1000 - Pleasant Ridge Montessori School - Cincinnati, OH
I KNOW THIS VIDEO SUCKS! Federal Signal Thunderbolt 1000 Pleasant Ridge Montessori School Cincinnati, OH Test recorded on December 7, 2011 Distance ...
@amtrak3501 I'm thinking the major-toned one could have either been the one
at French Park in Amberly Village or the one on top of the Salvation Army
building in Norwood (or a mix of both), depending on which direction it was
coming from and how quickly it was rotating. Pretty sure the loudest 1000
heard was the one on top of Silverton city hall up the road, and the 5/6
1000T was the one at Montgomery & Kennedy in Kennedy Heights. Other than
that, there's no telling what else is in there lol.
@LouisvilleTorn8o Thanks Josh...that is some epic ambiance. One of the
reasons it sounds so loud is because I cranked the mic damn near all the
way up. And Ian and I think we have that low pitched Thunderbolt pegged. I
would love to get to record that one. Frankfort was rained out, which
really sucked because once I move it home it won't be convenient to record
anymore. As of right now I will be out of town during Frankfort's January
test, so we will have to see how that goes.
@ND1003 Where was this? That is a sad day! I know the feeling well thanks
to Frankfort failing me over and over again and of course Louisville's 1003
(which is no longer there since I burned it down in my last video if you
recall). Good ambiance is good ambiance but once all the other sirens start
and the one you're filming is just sitting there, every second that goes by
just screams FAIL FAIL FAIL FAIL. But two in one day? When is the next test
you are headed to?
@amtrak3501 I just watched your video and agree. Fortunately they fixed
yours! This one will never be fixed. At about a minute ten into your video,
I thought it spontaneously turned into a 1000T but it was a train whistle
lol. I would have loved to hear this siren with the blower. Sure, it would
have cut back on the ambiance heard, but it also would have cut back on the
traffic.
If it's the 4/5 port 1000T I'm thinking of, it may be the same one BellyJay
can hear in the distance. I think it may be at a fire station, but there
are several 4/5 port Tbolts in Hamilton County, and most of them that I've
heard have the big A1 blowers, which makes them sound really mean.
@Trocks797 Thunderbolt was in Elkhart, IN and the Allertor was in Niles,
MI. I don't know about you but whenever a siren fails on me there is a
sudden urge to hop in the car and drive to another close siren. Probably
next test i'm gonna shoot the EOWS 1212 in Fish Lake, IN.
Hey Tyler, it's not a complete loss. That ambiance in the Attack portion of
the test is epic! I'm surprised at how loud the chopper was with the failed
blower. Did you get anything in Frankfort this time, or did that get rained
out?
At least you got a decent ambience! I tried to film a Thunderbolt and an
Allertor in one day and they BOTH failed. I got very litttle ambience at
the 1000T and no ambience at the Allertor. Now that's a failure day!
