Insofar as the argument between Jim and Lesley, there are things you don't know. And when people are goaded they will say things out of character and even crude. Christians aren't exempt dear, I've flown off the handle myself at times too. God only knows how bad I can be and I agree with Him that I'm a sinner. +Dionne Eason   With all due respect and as gently as I am able, I'd like to say that  what you are saying is not logical Dionne.  And you would have to overlook a whole lot of documented evidence and testimonies to be able to say what you are saying.Dionne, Rise Up Society is a large organization, involved in many areas to benefit the impoverished and disenfranchised of Kenya.  Have you taken the time to actually read their website to see what they do?   Their work goes far beyond removing jiggers.  Please check that out as the work is astounding:  //www.//www.riseupsociety.org/My fear is that you have taken the misguided judgments of a few who hate Jim and have fallen for the deception they spread.  I would seriously advise you to study the facts for yourself instead of allowing yourself to be persuaded by the likes of Lesley with her rants and emotional rages and outbursts. You may not want to admit it to yourself, but when it comes to Lesley Owens Berg, anything she tells you is suspect due to bias and her own personal issues.  You realize that much of what she posts has been edited and is out of context right?  Some of the things she's said about me are simply laughable! And, don't you get tired of the tune she plays over and over to try to gain sympathy?  Have you ever thought about her true motive Dionne?   She may scream and holler as though it is about the money, and that Jim has somehow 'scammed' her.  Well, that's just not true. The money she sent over was spent but for her families, but of course it was not enough to give them a middle-class existence, and what Jim did do was never good enough or exactly what she would have wanted. She attempted to micromanage and control Jim to an impossible degree - and, even as patient as Jim is, even he was brought low by her continual demands and pressures and criticisms.  He could never jump as high as she wanted him to.Trying to be a project manager in a charity from Canada - half way around the world from Kenya - just does not work.  In charities that operate like this, the decisions that are made are at the discretion of those directing and managing it from ON THE GROUND.  There is also an element of trust and respect for those people. I didn't see that from Lesley. Jim and Rise Up had reasons for the choices they made and I'm SURE that you do not know all the details of what has transpired over time with those families.  How could you? So, you take Lesley's word for it, right?Well, if you've never worked as a missionary or worked hand-on with a charity, then I'd conclude that there is no way that you can understand the factors involved in what it takes to do this kind of work.  And, Lesley doesn't either.  But irregardless, there is more to the story with Lesley and Jim than what meets the eye and your ear.  Don't trust it Dionne. It's not what it seems. Sadly, by your own admission, it appears that you are now believing it is all about the money!   Have you become so influenced that you can see nothing else but the almighty dollar sign?  You call me a 'follower', but who is the 'follower' Dionne? You ask:  why does Jim need donations if he's doing God's work?  Where does all the money go to?  Why he does nothing to help or lift a finger and only holds a camera and why should he get paid for that?   And, now you even claim he is preying on people's sympathies to try to build a Jigger Hospital, Clinic and Research Center.  Oh my gosh, these thoughts of yours are not even within the range of reality.My goodness Dionne, you are so very tainted.  Are you a Christian?  Have you ever been to a church?  Does it run itself?  Do I have to tell you that it takes money to run an organization - whether it is Christian or not?  My goodness girl, there is overhead involved, supply costs, staff and salaries, transportation and energy costs, just to name a few of the operational costs.  There is a business side to any charity Dionne.  Do you think that World Vision, Samaritans Purse, The Red Cross, or any other humanitarian effort runs on air?   Do you think that God is a 'magic genie' who miraculously makes scalpels, chemicals, fuel, house hold items, clothing, medical care, etc. just appear out of thin air? Do I have to make it any clearer? Charities, including Rise Up Society DOES HAVE EXPENSES and it cannot run without funds, anymore than you can survive without food, air and water.  Go to Charity Navigator on the internet and see the cost breakdown of those outfits.  And, while you're there, take a look at the salaries of those running those charities.  Jim works on a minuscule amount than those do.  And, he uses much less in operating expense.  And, even though Jim would be justified to draw a nice salary as the CEO, he doesn't.  You can't even compare him to those other charities on Charity Navigator.  Jim identifies himself with his people; and, what he does is out of love for his people, and as a result of the calling of God on his life. Dionne, you can always approach Jim with legitimate questions, and ask for explanations.  And, the financial statements are posted on the Rise Up Society website.I have spent SO much time trying to reach your heart Dionne.  Way more time than I actually have to spare, but then again, I think that you are worth any attempt I might make.  I just hope that you have not become so hardened that, no matter what I say, you would think I'm full of 'shit' (as you said earlier).Dionne, I'm personally not of African decent (although I have family who are).  But, I willingly fight for your people and this charity that has a goal to help them.  Why can you not see the good that is being done dear?  Are you blind to that?  Seriously, I just don't understand!Write to Jim for explanations or questions within your mind and please don't take other people's perceptions as truth without first checking it out.  And, you are always welcome to write to me.  Just use [email protected] or [email protected] God bless you and yours.  Mamite

That is YOUR OPINION Dionne.  Have you been there and met him in person?  Have you seen the ministry personally?  If not, you are in no position to judge.  And, believe it or not, people can still twist the trust.  Be careful of putting too much store into what you're hearing from those who hate Jim and are trying to bring him down.  Or.... have you joined those ranks now?  I sincerely hope not. It's easy to cast stones you know.  But I'd caution you on this. 

+Dionne Eason LOL, Actually, the contents of my bowels is not the issue here.  The ISSUE is that of the Ministry of Rise Up Society.  You may think of me however you want, and you may call me every disparaging and insulting name you can think of.  But what you think of the ministry of Jim Nduruchi and Rise Up Society is something you should take up with God.  Jim is the Lord's and Rise Up is a work of the Lord.  So take your complaints to the Lord God Almighty.  I'm sure he'll be glad to hear your opinion.   May God touch you with His love in a very special way today Dionne.  Mamite Geda
