@ThereAreNoUnionThugs it was 200 characters when I posted my comment, don't insult my intelligence. It's 500 now, not sure why, but I think it's because less people are commenting at the same time. I maintain my point of view on Twitter, though. You may be right that some people can actually have something useful to say, although this is a very limited number of people. It's much easier to get your point across if you can use more characters, meaning better (and longer) comments from more people

@Steve197201 The Santorum's give less than 2% of their money to charity, while the average of their income group is 3%. I don't fault him for not being overly charitable, that's for each man to decide how much to give, but I wouldn't reduce his tax rate because he happens to give money to charity. If his taxes are too high, we could discuss that, but his voluntary donations to charity play no part in that. Additionally Pennsylvania's tax rate is in the bottom quarter of the list.

They want something and the easiest way to get it is just offer money, if you still don't listen they will try different stuff. Their power doesn't stop at offering money. @ViciousRanger If Santorum is paying 13% of his income in taxes, then fine, I can see the justification for a tax increase. But I think that when you account for his charitable giving, as well as all the other taxes that he pays, particularly to the state in which he lives, I think you'll find that the actual rate is above 20%, which in my opinion, is excessive. Just my opinion.

@PSCreativeGaming The last time they tried this back in '05. The biggest recipients of this tax break actually cut jobs in '05 and '06. Others used the repatriated funds to pay dividends or repurchase stocks. It didn't have quite the effect that the Bush administration expected. @ThereAreNoUnionThugs Not every video is 500 comments. Youtube has been changing its policies and some videos only allow 200 comments. The point of this is to stifle debate and our ability to intelligently and fully articulate positions. It's not that hard to figure out.

@romanmir01 I'll presume those numbers are true, but have you fully considered why it's that high? Not because the rich pay a disproportional amount of tax, but because America has an atrocious rich/poor income disparity.
