I can see how random weapon/item stats can be profoundly annoying, if you are, say, a warrior, and getting stuck with intellect boosting gear... I'll stop now, to perhaps avoid another noob award.Thanks for clarifying!

No the complaint is that the random secondary stats offer to much complication into the gearing up process.

+Alexander Housley I would say change the second roll function so that instead of allowing you to roll for gear again, it allows you to roll to change the secondary specs of the item you just got. Since itemization is a bigger problem than acquiring the gear itself.Or like you said bring back reforging.I don't care if RNG stays the way it is as long as Blizzard does something about itemization. And I don't mean broad itemization which is already in place, i.e. healers get intellect gear, warriors get strength gear etc. I mean secondary stat itemization based on your specific spec.Like if Blizzard is going to continue to make fire mages 100% dependent on having 50%+ crit in order to be effective, then they need to create a way in which fire mages GET gear with crit on a NON-RANDOM basis - or allow us to change that ourselves i.e. reforging.Like all specs that depend heavily on a specific secondary stat, I'm pretty god damn sick of getting nothing but mastery and multishot/versatility when what I need is crit, with no way to increase my chances of getting crit gear.

+Vernon Price and definitely add reforged back in, it didn't make things any more painful than what we have now which is the apexis fueled garrison covered tragedy that we have now been forced to ingest.

+Vernon Price I see what you are saying but killing rng is not a valid solution. A better solution would be maybe have a free or gold cost double third roll option for where once you kill a boss you get the a chance to aquire a second roll fairly easy.On top of double roll tokens. don't nerf rng, just buff the number of chances you get per raid.

RNG can give you a perfect piece of gear the first try, or it can give you fail gear every single time for months on end. With the removal of reforging, the players now have zero control over secondary stat itemization, and Blizzard failed to do anything to compensate for that.Insuring that you GET a piece of gear isn't good enough. It has to be gear that you can actually USE for your SPEC. +Vernon Price except it kinda does. i am aware of how rng works, and I am aware of how blizzard does rng. it's not totally 100% random technically. to counter the problems of people not getting anything. they added a way to assure that you get a piece of gear. they added the reroll tokens, and they adjusted the loot system, when you don't get a drop, you then have a higher chance to get a drop on the next boss loot. so in order to get what you want then just run the content you were already going to run anyway. now with raid lockouts, this still isn't perfect but it is fair. however I don't see blizzard doing away with lockouts because that would literally only favor the hardcores who have time to run more than once a week. and I still agree that reforging is something they need to bring back, because gearing should require a trace of planning and thought, which is what rng helps you do. if I don't get the most desirable than I should be able to adjust so that I can have the best outcome on that piece of gear. also bring back gems. pretty much just look at d3s gearing system and apply it to wow and you would have the best game ever 10/10 on ign, not enough water.

+Alexander Housley MOP had reforging, which eliminated the problem. But then they took reforging out without compensating for the inability to change stats and made everything completely random, which sucks.Saying "work more for it" would be acceptable if RNG worked that way, but it doesn't. RNG is exactly that - random. Work as hard or as little as you want, it doesn't influence what loot you receive.

+FingolfinGRYeah those days are behind us, I don't think Blizzard in its state now will revert back to that.

+Paul Staker I think Burning Crusade and early Lich King did it better. Class specific tokens (some RNG to keep things exciting but nothing too crazy), while the difficulty of the dungeons and raids should be closer to the Vanilla/TBC. When everyone can farm the sets easily (late WotLK and on) they don't feel that awesome anymore. Also, making it as easy as it is now to experience the content makes the content itself feel boring. One of the things I loved back in the day when I was an active raider was how awesome it felt to kill a hard boss with the guild and take the group picture for the guild page. Progress actually felt like progress, not "farm LFR for gear, then normal, then heroic for the real experience". We had hard heroics and long attunement quests that made character progression more decent.And while attunement quests were a pain in the ass to complete on all characters, it might have not been such a bad idea to reinstate them and make them account wide (as long as your character is geared enough to enter.And of course make the epics scarcer. With decent stat blues for the first raid tier and progress the itemization from there. Just don't make the raids so damn easy.

+FingolfinGR We need an intermediary between rare and epics to break things up.Like "supreme" or something. That way raiders get something better than rares while epics will be more sparse to the way they used to be.

Vanilla was way more random on every aspect. There were no tokens, no currencies, just a certain amount of items that dropped, each class specific (and some weapons).I farmed BWL for a year with my guild and never got t2 gloves. Still enjoyed the end content more. Might be because I grew up with Diablo 2 where rng reigned supreme but that's life. I'll take rng and the feeling I'm special when I get my items (even if it means I won't now that I'm casual) than being showered with epics. There's no prestige feeling in the gear anymore. That's the major issue. Everyone feels they deserve the awesome gear because they spent time on the game.

+Dustin Mitchell yeah, definetely that. I wish they have a progression of 5 man dungeons in Legion. Maybe even bigger than Wotlk with more steps. Because I enjoy that content and I have not the Time (and friends lol) that reiding consumes.
