Samsung's KiKat update for the Galaxy Note 3 & the S4 is here... In this video, Let's see what gets changed when you upgrade your phone from Jellybean 4.3 to ...
Another major negative change that few reviewers are mentioning is the
restriction in the ability of apps such camera to write directly to SD
card. This is a major change and one reason to consider not upgrading from
Jelly Bean, especially given how the negatives outweigh the benefits
considering the few improvements Kit Kat offers.
+loughrey101 I can't say for sure but probably not because I have a torrent downloader and always downloaded movies straight to my SD card before the update but after the update when I tried to do it I got a message in the app that said my movie folder was 'read only'. However, I was able to transfer a movie to the SD card after downloading it to my S4's internal storage through a file manager app.
Thanks Tony! How about, ES Explorer, can it create folders on the SD card? I'm afraid to upgrade because I don't want apps to lose write permissions on the SD card.
I thought the same thing but after installing the update I checked the camera app and you can still write directly to an SD card. You just have to tap the settings icon then tap the second settings icon that pops up, then you can switch from the default 'device' storage to SD.
Really? I never really encountered anything as such. I dunno, its been quite a while since I've upgraded to 4.3, so I guess that's been remedied. I think the white icons look pretty sick too, can't wait for the update. Its also a shame about the lack of visual improvement on TouchWiz though. I hope that when the S5 debuts, the new TouchWiz will come as an update to the S4.
nope colored notification bar only for the stock wallpapers were available... if you used a custom wallpaper it used to go back to black buddy :)

hello there, one question, where can i find the clip board?i somehow
copied a picture i have taken to clip board, but i dont know where it is,
LOL. and can i attach it on my e mail?
both great smart phones , but imo the note series of phones with the extra screen size and the S pen are good reasons to go the note, once you get used to using the s pen, you will love it, plus it is just an all around a great phone loaded with features, good luck with what ever you choose..
Great Videos I Liked and Suscribed. I recently bought the Note 3 and your
Vids gave me a Huge Jump Start into it. Thanks!!! I would like to offer
some Constructive Critism. I know the Vids got long and you were trying to
show everyone everything in a limited amount of time. My advice would be to
SLOW Down a Lil bit. You talked a Million Miles an Hr, Lol & Blew through
some of the features when you were performing them. I had to rewind a
couple parts a couple times. Lol. Overall GREAT JOB! 9+
Hmmmmm Ok I'll have to do some messing around with it and see if I can figure it out. The only thing I have turned on at the moment with the Lockscreen is Patern Lock. I'll check later and see if that's why. I'll let you know. Thanks!
+Jason M. Townsend ok there are one of 3 possible explanations...1. Turn off any lock you have pin/pattern2. Carrier imposed changes3. Region specific Update removed the feature (highly unlikely)
+C4ETech Hey man Overall, This was a Great Review. I've shared the Video a couple times to Friends who recently got the Note 3 and wanted to learn more about it. I don't think I've watched another video who covers as much as you did. Great Job. I do have a question though maybe you can answer. Some of the options your Note 3 has, mine does not. Example the different effects for the Lockscreen. I only have an One option. I believe watercolor. I don't have ripple Nor am I able to change the color of the ink. Could this be because mine is a Verizon Note 3? I can't think of any other reason why I wouldn't have all the options yours have. Thanks again!
Thank for the feedback Jason, I understand... I started working on this as a 1 part video, ended up with 60 mins of content, cut it down to 35 mins and made a 2 parter, I should have kept the cut at 40 mins and released it as 3 parts but as they say hindsights 20/20 I cant change that, I however accept the mistake and videos would definitely be slower and you din mention it but I messed up the angle by tilting a little too much... thats fixed too :)
