2nd gear take-off in a 77 Datsun 620 with some mods.

2nd gear take-off in a 77 Datsun 620 pickup with an 85 Nissan Z24 motor with a motorcraft 2 barrel carb off of a Ford 360, mated to a 260Z 5 speed tranny.

nice video but it is my knowledge that datsun speedos are 5 to 10 mph off from the factory and then the size of tires can add 10 or more mph, i have a 77 model and its almost 15 mph off with a set of 195 75 14's when it says im doing 55 im doing about 80. nice though man. any vids of outside of it or anything?

u have some great vids on ur channel. i believe that Z24 was a long stroke lazy engine. I may need some opinion of yours tuning up my 22R

You've got some tall gears and a super smooth transmission. Excellent work on the truck. But it's still got a 8 second 0-60

hell yeah, that motor was siezed when i got it too. i just poured some marvel mystery oil in it and it ran fine.

@ricerhunter9 yeah its fairly close, it kept up with a lightly modded srt4 till 3rd gear.

Really good video man, good luck with it. I'm about to start my own 350 swap on my 89 hardbody but I was wondering what transmission you used? Or what would be the best option for keeping it manual in your opinion?

I'm using a 4l60e 4x4 tranny. I'm going to use a ez tcu stand alone computer and a tps 377400 from summit. it's the only way I know to keep the tranny alive. I'm my past experience converting to a manual 4l60e the tranny didn't last long. maybe I did it wrong but this time I'm keeping it electronic.

dude i have the same xzact truck, whats in yours, did u upgrde the engine a all or jus stock,cause that was a prety good burn out in such a small truck
