How to drape a tent
This is how I drape a tent with organza fabric. The final diagram will show you measurements for draping a tent as the red and white pictured. For a fuller look, ...
+zulma hernandez I would do 17 and 16. Or to be safe just do 17 of each. It's always better to have left over material. Trust me, you will find somewhere else to use it :)
+zulma hernandez Yes, 33 yards of fabric. The diagram has it in feet though. (1 yard=3ft)Cut the fabric for the corners use 10ft (4 pieces)for everything else 5ft (12 pieces)Once everything is cut, cut them in half again if you'd like. (The fabric measures 60 inches, but I prefer 30inches)You can sew the ends if you can, but even stapling would work!
+Anel Calderon it sure does, thank you so much! i will be using your video for reference in a couple ocassions this year!!! thank you sooo much! & im sorry, i should buy 33 you said right? and split it all. between 9' & 5'
+zulma hernandez You are SO welcome! I would search and search for tutorials & never found one. So i was excited to share a method that has worked for me!Ok, so for this size tent (20x40) I used 60 yards of organza, it didn't cover as much as I wanted, but it turned out perfect for my daughters circus themed birthday. For a 10x30 tent I would use 33 yards of fabric to get this type of coverage. Take my last diagram & switch out the 15ft to 10ft and the 9ft to 5ft. *another thing, I cut the fabric in half. It normally measures 60 inches wide, but I made 30 inch strips if that makes any sense. Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions!-Anel
