+teenquey it's definitely a sweet birthday cake but I wouldn't say it was too sweet. I honestly would only change the vanilla to real vanilla. I didn't like the taste of the clear stuff and I felt it gave it an artificially sweetened taste. If you're concerned with it being too sweet for you, you could also leave out the cake crumbles. They gave it good texture but they definitely added some extra sugar to the cake. It's definitely a fun treat to make and enjoy!
