While I don't disagree that expecting a movie studio, even an "independent
movie" to hire a trans person to play a trans role that has a big budget is
missing the point of movies wanting to make money, being an asshole about
people being disgruntled about a trans role not going to a trans
person...being arrogant and ignorant about it is fucking stupid.
It's not too far gone from people being upset that a Native American role
does not go to a NA person. It's insulting to not have some compassion
about the subject. Not everything in Hollywood needs to be politically
driven but you being moved by the Oscars 'Selma' performance and pissing on
people for wanting a trans-gender person to play a trans-person role is, as
I've said, just ignorant.
