Air Canada Express De Havilland Canada (Bombardier) DHC-8-400 Dash-8 Q400 C-GGOI is seen taxiing and taking off from the Kelowna International Airport ...
+marcio oliveira Spoiler switch not in the taxi position but in Flight position. Really there is no need of them being up during taxi but some operators chose to leave them in flight mode. When throttles are advanced 12 degrees past flight idle, the aircraft is weight on wheels , spoilers go down. If the switch is left in taxi (it is held there magnetically) the switch snaps back to flight as soon as power is applied. I guess just leaving switch in flight is just one more way of insuring the spoilers are working and will work when power is applied.
+kmb9624 I flew on LIAT's ATR 42-600 and their ATR 72-600 three months ago and was very impressed on how quiet those aircraft were. The overall service on the carrier left a lot to be desired, but flying on their regional aircraft was a joy. If you ever get the opportunity to fly on the latest generation of ATRs, you simply won't be disappointed.
+kmb9624 Nice! I did find it a bit noisy when flying on the Q400 as well. I haven't had the opportunity to fly on the ATR 42 or 72 yet, but would really like to some day soon.
+TheHDAviation I've flown on this aircraft as well and I'm equally impressed with its jet-like performance. However, it's noticeably nosier than the ATR 42-600 and the ATR 72-600. Two other regional aircraft on which I've had the privilege of flying.
