Uber passengers are ridiculous. my rating has gone to shit, and its not my fault. for example, today, I arrived to the requested location, and I'm wondering where the passenger is, so as a courtesy, I call. they then go on to tell me they're a couple blocks over. I pick them up, then proceed to drop them off. they're chatting in the back with their friends, so I remain silent. ride ends, I wish them a good night, and we go out separate ways. I think I did everything I was supposed to do, but apparently I didn't because my rated trips only increased and not my five-star rated number of trips. fucking petty assholes take my services for granted. they forget that I risk my car, my time, my life every time I pick them up. I bring them to safety, and yet that seems to always be overlooked. This rating seems needs to go. Not all passengers are like this, but this scenario is not uncommon during my weekly pickups. I would like also like to mention that uber after a long 4 months of reduced rates, uber notified drivers in my region that rates will return back to previous rates prior to the rates reduction. so far, I have found that it's worse than when rates were reduced. I could drive only during the surge and make upwards of $900 driving Thursday to early morning Sunday. I'm on target currently, but I find that I have to drive a lot more to meet this mark because there are way more people driving. not sure if its because people want to drive more because e of the rates returning to normal, or there are simply more drivers on the road now, but I see it as a big problem surge is what keeps drivers afloat, not the increase in fares. I could be wrong, but I dont have a good feeling about it. I personally believe uber set the rates back to normal to get more drivers on the road so that they don't lose customers from high surges due to the lack of drivers on the road. it's all for their benefit. it's not for the drivers.
