Thanks for putting this up. I remember this on RTE years ago, it's as funny
now as it was then , fare play. Morrissey, what a brilliant actor, stage &
screen. Loved him on Halls Pictorial Weekley, watched him not so long ago
on a film called Eat the Peach.
I saw this as a one hander in Plymouth years ago and as a great admire of
Na Gopaleen / Flann O'Brien / Brian O'Nolan its a brilliant show of the
best of A Cruiskeen Lawn. I love it.
Thanks for this. Saw him do this live at the Edinburgh Fringe back in the
early 1990's and it still is one of the best pieces of theatre I have ever
seen.
Bobby Darin did not write it. It's older than the hills. But he did sing
it, along with Ella, Louis Armstrong, and a host of others. Each brought
their own style to it. This guy in the video here, same thing: brings his
own style to it. And pulls it off pretty good, if I do say so myself.
How is he a bully? banana suit guy was accusing him of raping a girl and of being sexually aroused by corpses. anyone would get loud and upset at those accusations especially if they're coming from a sweaty nervous loud mouth that's trying to tell you he knows you more than you know yourself.
Pat Kenny realised that he did not have the charisma and personality to
host a show like the Late Late in Ireland, so he reverted to these tactics
to make the show more interesting. This is what you get when your national
broadcaster still clings on to the relic of a live 2 hour talk show on
national television each week. Here in the UK those days are long gone and
everything is pre-recorded 1-3 days in advance. The Late Late Show in
Ireland is a relic of a bygone era and should have finished with Gay Byrne
in 1999.
Angela's Ashes is not inaccurate for three simple reason that it is based
on his interpretation. Key words... "his interpretation". If others felt
different that's fine. That doesn't make him a liar. Nuff' said
