Fast food workers protest for higher wages
The Detroit Police Department broke up a protest by fast food workers after they refused to stop blocking Mack Avenue.
Not everyone can design and develop web sites, architect landscapes, fight
fires, fly commercial airplanes, mix plaster, install electrical equipment,
fix heating and air conditioning systems, make mold injections, design and
develop video games, and so forth. All of these require a high degree of
mental skill. Taking orders and flipping hamburgers requires no skill.
Anyone can do it with very little training. THIS is why McDonalds, Burger
King, Subway and other fast food companies pay minimum wage. The difficulty
of the job or how much responsibility they give you determines the hourly
or salary pay you receive.
Demanding $15 per hour is an entitlement ploy.
For those saying Mcdonalds is entry level work and that these people should
go get better jobs. Your arguments invalid. No body else is highering high
school students right now, theres literally no work in my city other then
fast food, being a maid, janitor, or gas station attendant. Instead of
putting these folks down, why don't you offer them a better job because you
certainly don't deserve yours for fucksake!
To read the comments it's like to know what's going on in the US - a three
or four class system. Lot of fast food employees are adults in full-time
jobs and hand have to pay their costs ( appartment, water, electricity,
phone, gas, car, kids,...). The wage of a full-time job have to feed a man!

Are you okay? Why are you talking about the panthers....AGAIN? I didn't say anything about them...like WTF! I Do not like repeating myself! We Are Done! You are now Blocked
+ActNatural UnderPressure ... The point I'm making is that the history of the Black Panthers can show that violent struggle won't end well. Maybe if you studied them and what happened to the Panther 21, you'd recognize that they were targeted by the state even as they pushed a more militant stance such as what Malcolm X and Muhammed Ali did in the 70s.
I didn't say anything about the black panthers that wasn't my point and I stated that was just one of many things...READ S L O W L Y A PERSON HAS THE RIGHT TO PROTECT THEMSELVES FROM MURDER EVEN FROM
+ActNatural UnderPressure The Black Panthers tried a militant stance and that got them isolated and executed by the state.Armed resistance is a tactic, but it can't be the only strategy in struggle from oppression.
Blacks who say they're christian have a REALLY shitty memory. It was the
white man's god that states that slavery is both moral and good. So, if
slavery's acceptable to your god, shouldn't it be good for you, too? Fuck
you, and your psychotic god. No gods, no masters.
My interpretation of the new testament on slavery is that slavery in itself especially in regards to paul is that slaves (Since this was completely normal at the time) were to not be abused and be treated equally as a brother of Christ. To treat them as you would treat your son as it says. This was to all races. I don't see how this opinion and yours helps or contributes anything positive to anything. BUT there you have it. without the insults and without the negative slander to another's beliefs. Ironic you talk of morality.
+マスター禅 Generally speaking nothing of worth is simply "given" to anyone my friend. Blacks must formulate a solid economic plan; practice deferred gratification, save and execute that plan. The way anything is earned is through discipline and hard work. Even the passage of the 64' civil rights act was achieved using these principals. Organizing, raising funds, the huge task of an entire community boycotting a bus sys required a clear vision to successfully mobilize, execute to force Washington to take blacks seriously. The same now must to done "economically" in black communities across the country. If not we'll be marching for the "next" 150 years.
+Chancelor Grey The lack of economic power "IS" the cause of BLM policing concerns. Every poor community in the world is exploited because they are unable to economically and physically defend themselves. The power to control and maintain ones community takes resources not words. Blacks have been "marching" for jobs and opportunity since the 60's. Long term exposure to poverty and dependence on dominant society for jobs, healthcare and quality education is the cause our problems. High illegitimacy rates and lack of respect for education have pushed us further down. Even if no abusive police set foot in the black community it would still have high crime, murder rates and unemployment. If in your opinion the sole cause to these problems is "white supremacy" but your solution is more federal assistance (which comes from white supremacist culture) I hope you can see my point. The issue is the total break down of the black family and ability for blacks to build for themselves. Aggressive policing (although an issue) is only a symptom of a much larger problem.
+Ron G I wasn't aware African Americans could only focus on one thing at a time. I didn't know that just cause some are focusing on police reform that it meant no one could work on the economic side if things.
