The police never released information. The only thing that my boyfriend
could see was a male figure wearing a blue shirt as he was jumping the
fence. One of the neighbors down the street said the police were after a
suspect who stole a car. Most of the population in that area are Hispanic.
Actually, my other neighbor who has a son went to school in Allentown, PA
and he actually had to have an interpreter because he spoke English.
Allentown wanted to make Spanish the primary language.

Thanks sweetie and I wish you and your family the best! I remember working
at a nursing home with someone dying (I was a hospice nurse then) and a
child was shot that day. That broke my heart. It wasn't on purpose, but it
was the way the bullet went. I still enjoyed everyone I met in that area.
There are very nice people. I have two dogs a rotti and a pit bull so I
don't get scared. The man was only trying to get away from the cops anyway.
Times are tough. I think he stole a car.

I don't live in Allentown. I bought a house not that far away, however.
It's getting really bad now. Murders almost on a daily basis and there has
been a lot of robberies in our area because of people who reside in
Allentown. Actually, three robberies last week during the day. One next to
me and two on two streets from where I live. There are nice places in
Allentown too. Some beautiful houses on Tilghman street (higher numbers.)

I agree that it can happen anywhere. I wasn't used to it at any place I
lived. I was always able to keep door unlocked. I think I got over it in 5
minutes. I went to college in North Philly and worked as a nurse in N.
Philly and West Philly, so I just go with the flow. I'm sorry to hear about
your friends. This really doesn't happen anywhere with your friends being
shot and having to dodge bullets. I'm sorry you live like that.

im glad u got over it but dont get the wrong idea about the way i live it
not all bad but once u get over the gun violence in the neighborhood you
can actually have some good times and my neighborhood in particular isnt as
bad as others in N. philly o and btw i never really had some1 deliberately
shoot at me even tho they did deliberately point it at me but i wish the
best for you and your son...

i mean u just got to go with it and keep going stuff like that can happen
anywhere and i hate when people get scared or suprized because then got a
so-called nice house in a low crime nieborhood and then when one thing bad
happens in their nieborhood they get scared lets that ruin their life so
what im saying is dont let it ruin your life and keep on going cuz stuff
can happen any time any where

Yes, I really didn't get nervous. As a nurse, I had to go to neighborhoods
that were really bad. I am a little nervous now to be outside in the yard
at night. I need to get a stockade 6' fence around my entire yard. I was
looking for fences anyway because of the pool, so I figured it would be
better and about the same price to do the entire yard instead of just where
the pool is.

Oh, I live in Northampton County. Small world neighbor! Are you serious
about the crime being worse than Queens? I got lost in Queens after
dropping someone off at the airport. My friend who is 68 y.o. knows New
York very well because she grew up in Bergen County, NJ and also lived in
NY. Queens didn't seem bad at all compared to Allentown when I think about
it.

ok my friend made me watch this and i have a little advice GET ON WITH YOUR
LIFE! i dont mean to be insensitive or mean but i live in north philly i
had guns pointed at me ive heard shot ring out i got friends who were shot
and killed (i couldnt fit the whole comment one one post so i spit it in
two look at the next one for continuation)

Thank you! I don't know at this point if they caught the suspect. My son
seems to be doing alright today. What was weird on 7/21 I had a dream that
a man was trying to get in my front door and I was trying to close it at
the same time. He had a gun and I could tell you his exact description. The
police got him in my dream.

You are 100% right. I agree with that man Joe in TX who shot those two guys
who were trying to break into his neighbor's yard. They came charging at
him in his yard and he got away with shooting them. They said they weren't
armed, yet they had a tire rod iron (for changing tires) which is lethal in
itself.

Thank you! The boyfriend has been leaving really early for work and working
very late. There are times that I can't get a hold of him for a couple of
hours and he could be in the middle of something. I don't know. I don't
worry about it. Why? What are you going to do?

Get that firearm, and train with it! Please train, and learn th Rules of

I checked the local news today and there was nothing about the incident. I
called the local news and they said to call non-emergency police
department. So, I will have to or check with a neighbor.
