Democracy in the Arab World Now freedom now We hope that Islamic extremists dont take the power in Syria, Egypt etc Let's remember the Iranian revolution of ‘79, democratic people trusted extreme Islamists who pretended to be their allies and turned out to be just as repressive and corrupt, wearing a mullahs robe rather than a monarch's gown. At the end democracy left Iran, try not to end up like them, being murdered and tortured and imprisoned even more than under the previous regime.

Unfortunately, the folks in other countries who sent their best and brightest to the USA to study are infected and contaminated with the fever for "management" inherent in the american capitalist model. Thus, any collaborations between state/national governments and those who wield financial power and influence over them, are more likely to benefit only the elite, everyone else be damned. Blaming the US ignores the role we all play in allowing our governments to get away with such barbarism.
