Equality... Finland's rank on the domestic violence charts really tells us a lot about the drinking problems in that country, and using "hän" instead of feminine/masculine words of description won't help :P

Obama was GOING to appoint Linda Darling-Hammond to the office of Secretary of Education. Then he got tapped by some powerful campaign donors like Eli Broad, Democrats for Education Reform, etc. They had a little chat with him and he dropped Linda like a hot potato and appointed Arne Duncan, who had spent the previous eight years working directly for Eli Broad. Today, Duncan dines with Broad and takes his cues from him. Eli Broad and others like him bought our nation's educational system.

Perhaps the US government should do like everybody wants and relinquish the power to the states to govern how is necessary for that state. Trying to govern 50 "countries" with one general rule of law has proven not to be feasible.

I think it should be noted, Finnish schools pay less per student than US ones do. The numbers quoted in the Finland Phenomenon documentary were $8,300 for US and $7,500 for Finland.
