:DD
Jim, Todd, Rob, Marc, Wilc and all those "bronz" age artists are still demi
gods. Stan Lee is a god. He gets paid millions a year just for living. He's
already dead, and each contribution, each new character he comes up with is
an extra legacy. Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, Joe Simon, Wally Wood, Steve Ditko,
Jerry Siegel, Joe Shuster, Bob Kane (even though he doesn't diserve
anything), all these guys are goin' down with Michaelangelo and DaVinci.
Hey man lol I forgot about this comment. But yeah I know Stan Lee's not
dead and god forbid he does. What I meant was his time has passed because
he should be retired. Therefore each knew character or world contribution
he makes is an extra legacy is what i meant.
You know I really believe that there are artists that were born to do
certain characters. Todd Mcfarlane of course was Spiderman, Liefeld Cable,
Dale Keown the Hulk, and Jim Lee Batman. Anything else these guys do just
doesn't mean anything.
I think your right. He looks like he has been hitting the gym a little
doesn't he? I work out a lot myself so I notice these things. Jim Lee
rules! I wish he was still illustrating Gen13 It's not the same with the
new artists. It just isn't.
Jim is a god at art. But the other ones you mention are like Titans, they
contributed and build the platform that comics are today, but the gods get
to play with their creations. Props to both in any case :)
@MarlonOwnsYourCake @stewman234 What I like about it, is it takes a new
look at what Batman and the things in his world would be like and how he
might have to be mentally to do the things he does and it has its own sort
of self-aware poking fun at traditional comic book elements and established
cannon. what's possibly best aside from the places the story goes, is the
fact that underneath every out-of-character action are the same deep-rooted
drives and passions as what would be "true bat-north"
@stewma234 I think it's great too, but I can definitely see why people
don't like it. I think it's mostly because people don't have much of a
sense of humor or flexibility of interpretation when it comes to their
comics, especially after everything that happened to batman in the 90s. And
this Batman isn't exactly traditional, he laughs all the time, he's fairly
immature, he's cruel, and, frankly, psychotic. Plus, a lot of things that
happen and are said are completely ridiculous.
i have the entire run of it, and while i personally enjoy it i can see how
people would dislike it. I think the art is astounding, and Jim Lee is
perfection as usual. he might just be the most talented artist in the
business. for me the problem is with frank miller's handling of things. a
lot of what he's trying to do actually makes a lot of sense and is cool in
concept but doesn't quite come to fruition the way it should.
I thought that when Alex Sinclair coloured Jim's pencils on Coup D'etat:
Sleeper he did a very good job making it murky and moody - and that issue
had a short deadline to make. Scott's colours are sometimes TOO Silver Age
and flashy... we've seen it a lot of times now, something different might
be enoyable. The idea of seeing Jim coloured by either Justin Ponsor or
Richard Isanove is pretty cool though, you have to admit.
i hope you mean puts out instead of selling. it puts out a couple copies a
year, but it sells WELL. in fact its been said asbmar is one of dc's best
selling books. dont get me wrong the story blows, but most people,
including myself that ive talked to, buy it for the art.
honestly i think jim is wasting his talent with all star, hes my fav batman
artist of all time but the writing is just retarted. and oddly enough its
by frank miller.... which is reallly odd. jim lee still is the best just
wish he was on the regular batman title again!
Yes yes yes! Breakin up composition with blacks and whites, he knows what
he's talkin about and I finally found proof for myself! And to top it all
off not once did he mention anything about detail like these new kids are
focused on these days.
Awesome work, Jim! You do such a fantastic job on all your artwork (Marvel,
DC & Wildstorm). I own almost every issue of WildC.A.T.S drawn by Jim Lee,
including the WildC.A.T.S/Huntsman crossover. Jim Lee is phenomenal! I
can't say that enough.
Awesome stuff Jim. I only wish I could draw half as good as you. I hope you
do come to Australia so I can get the chance to meet you and hopefully get
a nice superman sketch to add to my collection of famous artist sketches.
No connection at all. The "All-star" line was made by DC to showcase
alternate, accessible stories of their most popular heroes in order for
them to reach a general audience. There is no link between them whatsoever.
I love ALL STAR BATMAN AND ROBIN #9, it was fun. I hope he finishes the
book before Frank Miller croaks! With his declining health and the massive
BOMB from Sin City 2 - we may not have much time left.
can you believe this guy originally started out trying to be a doctor? (or
some medical profession) haha how'd he end up doing comics and becoming one
of, if not, THE BEST in the whole damn industry??
I've only noticed it on two panels so far, but it took me like a full
minute on each to realize that some shadows were abstract Robin "R's" as I
tried to figure out how certain shadows were cast.
:') you are legendary sir. and extremely down to earth. would assume that
someone with your stature wouldn't be. your work is otherworldly and I wish
to meet you someday
Jim and Scott really are fantastic together. I have seen Jim Lee's work
inked by someone else and the result was okay but not as mind blowingly
fantastic.
first of all, it sells like two copies a yr, now as amazing as jim lee's
work is, frank millers ridiculous "the goddamn batman" got really old
really fast
i bought the graphic novel and thought it was an amazing collaboration
between frank and jim but im just wondering whats happening next wheres
volume 2?
New 52 redesigns look awful. Superman looks clunky and awkward. Not to
mention DC writes him like some emo Peter Parker with a chip on his
shoulder. DC comics all look like bad image comics from the 90's. Nothing
Jim lee can draw will replace the classic look fans have grown to love for
over 75 years. DC comics is a mess.
I read Batman hush 4 days a go and finish it yesterday now I'm a huge fan
of this dude because his art is mind blowing gosh :3 Man I love art so much
drawing for like 9 years has made a me a huge nerd lol but I love being a
nerd and looking at art XD!!! Love you Jim keep up great work
To tell the truth, if you tell a new employee how to do the job, if you
have a degree or not, he will do the job how you tought him. THE PERSONA
FOR THE JOB IS WHAT IS MORE IMPORTANT
AR.Drone AutoPylot tracking green ball using Python
This video shows the Parrot AR.Drone following a green ball using its front-facing video camera and a navigation program written in Python. The video was ...
Have you guys had a chance to get a hold of the version 2.0 of the drone?
I'm currently looking for an api for my v2.0 drone that integrates well
with opencv.
I can tell from the make that he's using the Uniball Vision Elite fine
point 0.7 mm black pen. You can get these at CVS stores for 2.49 a pop. One
more tip...get also the Uniball Jetstream 1.0 mm bold model as well as the
Uniball Vision .5 mm micro line. Both the Uniball Vision Elite and the
Uniball Jetstream are refillable...while the Vision Micro is not. These are
the best artist sketch pens besides the Micron line.
I know this is a pretty old comment but I'd have to agree with you. If
anything I'd think he may be offended or a bit disappointed if he was "the
best!". Art isn't about being the best, it's about getting better right?
What fun would it be if there was no one better than you? But yea, Jim Lee
is a beast, but there are plenty of artists just like him, people are
narrow minded like that it seems.
I dont get how he can use a crow quill dip pen. Those things are so hard to
handle and slow going. I prefer the microns and the pentels myself. After
seeing this video, im going to be checking the uniballs as well.
I went to art school to draw a lot and have lots of time to draw. Instead,
my educators told me to make linocuts, print them, attent sculpture classes
and make porcelain dishes, build little houses out of custom wood. So I
have less time to draw before I entered art school...
There you have it. You heard the master give the most simplistic tip to
anyone with a passion for art or anything. Do it over and over and over and
over then do it some more !
