+Nicholas Schuster It turns out that this actually wasn't the song. Danny said he figured it out later and named it on the show, and it wasn't this. But still, great find.

+Nicholas Schuster Okay. I'll have to check that out. I find it odd that I didn't pick up on that. I am a fan of Jim Croce, and I love this song, so I should've remembered him mentioning this song.

went way to young. I played his albums over and over again in the 1970's.Some of his songs could be the soundtrack of my life. Still playing them.

He was one of the all-time greats! Unknown how he passed away. R.I.P Jim Croce.

The crazy thing about that plane crash was that the pilot was running late, so he jumped out of his car in traffic and ran about 3 miles (if my information is correct) to get to the plane. Problem is, he had a heart condition and died immediately on takeoff. The plane started descending and struck the only tree beyond the runway. That was the day the music died, to be sure. What a tragic loss.

He was killed on September 20, 1973 when his plane crashed near Natchitoches, Louisiana...about 107 miles southeast of Shreveport.
