I figured that was the case. Crows, and their corvid cousins (jackdaws, jays, ravens, magpies...) do this all the time to cats, dogs, birds of prey, etc, and have no problem doing this to people. Heck, according to some of my friends from Australia, the magpies down there are extremely aggressive about it, and will frequently swoop down to bite and peck people's heads and faces.

+Interestingenough4 People are probably being ass holes to magpies then.

if you watch the video you can see the birds are instigating the fight. what they do is nip at the tail of one cat to distract it enough for the other cat to pounce, by doing this they're distracting both cats from their nest, and are also having a bit of fun in the process. they seem to pick more on the white and brown cat, so what i'm thinking is that cat lives in the area while the black one's a stray, and since the other cat lives in the area it's probably taken a few shots at getting the birds nest, so when the black one invades it's territory and the white/brown one is ready to defend, the birds try to distract it so that the black cat can get in more blows and possibly scare off or even kill the white/brown one, removing the threat from the birds and their nest, afterwards they can scare off the black cat.

+UBERMAUSSE MAUSER Divide and conquer, hmm? If that were the case, the crows would be brilliant.

They are not Scrub Jays, as they are thought to be at end of video. Magpies, Crows, and Ravens are related species. I think they are in the same family. There are pied Magpies. I don't know about crows. I'll be looking that up. They all have been known to attack animals and people. (*>

I love these intelligent birds.

+Jennifer Sherman hooded crows, maybe?

Crows, magpies, and ravens are all in the same family. Very smart birds!

Hi! I'm here. lol I'm so flattered that I'm missed. I'll start coming in again. I didn't think anyone would notice my absence, or care. Thank you so much! :-)

Where are you Jenn Sherman!

looks like the birds are trying to distract the cats from fighting...since he said that in his opinion they might be distracting from the nest...good birds if that. if not then theyre just like wtf is happening quack flap
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-XdUIqdMkCWA/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/4252rscbv5M/photo.jpg?sz=64
it wasn't his opinion, its a fact, they only mob predators if they are nesting.
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-XdUIqdMkCWA/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/4252rscbv5M/photo.jpg?sz=64
The professor is wrong.. The birds are just having fun at the expense of the cats.
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-XdUIqdMkCWA/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/4252rscbv5M/photo.jpg?sz=64
no birds to put their life in danger to have fun. its common behavior for crows and other members of the corvid family of birds to mob predators while they have young.you can see it all over YouTube.
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-XdUIqdMkCWA/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/4252rscbv5M/photo.jpg?sz=64
You are absolutely right!! They are claviers of the birds and they having fun, those cats and crows know each others.

Just like in multiculturalism, everyone who is not white is attacking the white one.
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-XdUIqdMkCWA/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/4252rscbv5M/photo.jpg?sz=64
+derpestarzt no not at all. nesting crows mob any thing in their territory. I've raised over 100 baby crows.the parents were mobbing the cats just as they do all over the world every nesting season. they were not friends in any way and were not trying to start a fight. no animal in the world would do do that for fun or sport, only humans.
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-XdUIqdMkCWA/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/4252rscbv5M/photo.jpg?sz=64
+derpestarzt Except the problem with this is that it completely violates any form of nuance when examining behavior. We know that when cats are raised with birds or even cats that have been raised by birds don't attack them. We know for a fact that other animals will adopt others not even of their own species to raise them and treat as their own. This is also typical of cats that exhibit dog like behavior and vica versa... there is just so much about animal behavior missing from the entire OP that he doesn't even address. Hell does he even address the cognitive dissonance of color association with themselves across different species? No!So in other words the explanation as to why the other cat comes to his defense is so multifarious that any interpretation based on this video alone is simply just speculation. Which is why its best to go with the speculation most likely to happen, it's not about defense of another animal species, it's probably most like the cat saw him and they just don't get along at all.
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-XdUIqdMkCWA/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/4252rscbv5M/photo.jpg?sz=64
Actually I think that's what's going on, I mean, I think the crows might think the black cat is "one of the gang" or something, maybe that's why the black cat goes to fight the other cat in the first place, to protect the supposed nest of his "friends".
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-XdUIqdMkCWA/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/4252rscbv5M/photo.jpg?sz=64
Of course the only ones to maintain a narrative is to associate the color of one's skin with culture and then maintain that multiculturalism is attacking people of white color, when in reality they're just attacking and critiquing culture. This is the only way racists can even attempt such a narrative while hiding under the fact that they're racist.
