Under capitalism governments create bubbles by overspending and cheap money policies, occasionally the economy tanks before the individual efforts of millions rebuild it.Under socialism, there are no such cycles. The economy is always in the toilet. This take the drama out of life and one can count on always living in despair - this is why socialism rules.

+Pro Libertate Nothing of that will ever reach surface :) If you're going to get those reserves you will use more energy to get them than what you will get out from it later. Trouble is already upon us.. just look at the economies all over the world. High oilprice -> economy crashes.. oilprice sinks.. economy rebounds.. oilprice increase faster than last time.. economy crashes again. And so on. Worse for every cycle.

Stop watching news programs that are funded by the fossil fuel industry. There's an obvious financial motive for their dissemination of misinformation to their viewers. Watch Democracy Now! Read lots of books and step out of your comfort zone to take a look at the evidence on offer by the national academy of science(NAS) and other INDEPENDENT research organizations. And there's no substitute for learning math, chemistry and physics so you can work it out yourself.

The important thing to realize is that their are definite effects that can be seen within the climate which are directly linked to human-made chemical emissions. These chemicals are being spread all over that planet not only in the form of fossil fuel emissions, but as  chemicals emitted from decomposing plastic, building materials, household and industrial cleaning supplies, chemical fertilizers, and any other highly toxic synthetic chemical compound that we manufacture and let seep into the water, air and soil. We have unknowingly relied on the biosphere that surrounds us to recycle chemical waste that is produced by other living systems, because natural selection has sculpted individual life-forms to function that way. But we are pumping such a high volume of pollutants, with such devastating chemical properties into the environment, that can't be processed by other living things, and is actually toxic to them, that we are upsetting the delicate systemic interactions within the environment. So global warming is only one side effect of a collapsing environment along with ozone depletion, ocean acidification, runaway greenhouse emissions from pockets of natural gas stored in arctic ice, carcinogenic compounds in our water; food; and air, etc. And by the way, global warming is not BS. It is caused by the fact that the particular structures of certain molecules(CO2 and methane) have a geometry that vibrates for long periods of time relative to other molecules when they are hit by solar radiation. This vibration is what he call heat. Because they hold heat longer, and there is an ever increasing amount of them, you can expect the environment to get warmer; unless the sun stops shining or we take these molecules out of the atmosphere.

Is that why you can sail a ship through the new northwest passage in the arctic?  There was no northwest passage until about 5 years ago. NASA has reported that the north pole is 30% smaller in the summer then it was 40 years ago.
