Great! In addition to "reports", include video of the interesting places you tell us about. You go there to research, why not do video there? People will love seeing the places we've been hearing about! Do your "testimonials" in video format & have expat's give us a tour of their new "home in paradise". It will be popular with IL postcards recipients. Keep up the great work! If a picture is worth a thousand words, imagine what video footage is worth! Walden Barney Gridley, CA

Great idea rather than endless text, but as noted below, actually seeing the places described in your postcards, and hearing from the people living there, would be much more helpful. I do have one of your older Ecuador Owners Manual and found that many of the contacts were outdated or non-existent. Perhaps video or interactive displays could be kept more current. Thanks for adding this feature and I hope to "visit" more of your recommended locations soon.

I urge everyone considering retiring in a foreign culture to go and spend at least 6 months RENTING in the area of your choice before just pulling up sticks and selling everything. I have lived in Boquete, Panama for the past 8 years and see many people come and go. Expat life is challenging and can be great but it is not for everyone. Great information! I would like a lot more videos of the various places mentioned with running commentary. Try to make it be less of a slick sales pitch, and more informative, documentary style. My husband might even be willing to pay attention then. We were in the Foreign Service many years and consequently lived in many overseas places. We know it is not only a dance on roses. All places have positive and negative aspects.

this is good information ,,, but i think that we should hear from the individual themselves , can anyone from a foriegn country just come and live like this ? and from what age? what qualification do you have to have in order to benefit from all this? what about health care ?how is all this possible?dont you have to become a resident first or something in order to obtain all this ? more information is needed.

I liked the video and the info presented. I'm already living in Mexico (from the states). Tell the Belize editors to stop lying about how good Belize is. It's a pathetic, corrupted, basket case constantly on the 'take'. I lived there and when they tell us how great Belize supposedly is, knowing what I know, it makes it difficult to take seriously, people like you, who are telling the truth.

A great start. As suggested, consider moving beyond the talking heads to include scenery, where people live, brief interviews. Of course, you have to avoid turning a simple postcard into a massive undertaking, so there are advantages to an 'amateur' approach: keep it simple and informative, using the pictures to tell the story as well.

This is a great way to communicate with readers. I concur with the comment about seeing a video as opposed to reading very long messages in other emails. This video was brief and to the point. For those needing additional information written text would be an excellent backup. Please cover more topics in this format.

Pleasant presenter, good information, but the backdrop could have been nicer (open window onto a beach?). Also some shots of the actual scenes she is speaking of would make a much more interesting and worthwhile viewing experience than just a talking head.

Great! I think this is a good start to what I hope will be a regular addition to the print and internet materials available from IL. Look forward to videos of other countries, location shoots, interviews with on-the-ground expats and so on. -- Don

I read Al's description in the IL bulletin. It was identical other than for the fact that Al tells us that he and his wife attend the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass prior to brunch. Any reason that detail was left out of this video?

Great start! As mentioned, would love to see pictures/videos of named places along with her nice voiceover. Also, any chance of seeing any clips from one of the country-specific conferences?
